After spending 30 days in San Francisco with a gay couple, he's still living his life under the notion that we're all equals. [Knoxville News Sentinel]
• Documentation of Kathy Griffin's lesbian past — and far too many words devoted to a love-hate relationship with her. [Pretty Scary]
• If you're a comic geek, then we'll probably find you this weekend in San Diego at Comic Con — and not giving a crap what Hollywood's trades have to say. [HWT]
• If Gayle King and Oprah aren't lesbian lovers, then surely the daytime queen won't mind if her BFF takes someone else along to see Madonna. [Towleroad]

• In commemmorating last year's hangings of two Iranian teens for being gay, the Washington Post runs afoul of the very rules of media coverage it criticizes. [Washington Blade]
Just my opinion, of course, but ...
I found that linked-to Kathy Griffin story to be both hateful and, at least with regards to supposed gay uproar/fallout from the "Splash" incident, inaccurate (to be generous).
there was gay uproar- against Splash.
Yep, people are still more interested in whether an entertainer deserves the love of "the gays" instead of any follow through regarding issues that actually mean anything. Is it all just so overwhelming that the GLBT population is willing to just throw their hands in the air and say "I cant do anything about it"? Apathy sucks, but do you want things like this occurring here?
Screw the "rules". The Washington Blade made people uncomfortable in their microcosms and that's just too friggin' bad. I'm thankful there are global organizations that actually give a damn, but the coverage here by Qweerty comes off like you're trying to strike a balance between being the gay In Touch or US magazine crossed with The Advocate. Way to go!
My apologies for the typo. Queerty is still at least BRINGING the issues to the table. I just question the juxtapositioning at times. Kathy Griffin versus gay teen hangings in Iraq? I suppose there's some validity here, but a perhaps tying the two stories together would have made more sense. Oh, sorry, that's right. I'm not your editor.
Dammit. And so that I don't come off like more than my usual psycho, the link that should have followed "...but do you want things like this occurring here?":

Kudos to the Kathy article! It's high time someone pointed out how irritating and annoying, yet somehow endearing, she is, while tying that into gayness, somehow.
The article is funny. And the screenshots clearly illustrate the pre-surgery Kathy that created the insecure, loud, overcompensating woman that we know and love today.
