Pesce Prevents Prostate Problems

Prostate cancer is the second most common type of cancer in men, so we're always on the lookout for ways to keep our prostate glands healthy and happy--and new reports point to even stronger benefits of eating a diet rich Omega-3 fatty acids.

houseboy_05.jpegYes, we've heard the "Omega fatty acid" story before; but this report is significant because it measures the effects from eating actual food, as opposed to popping supplements. People taking Omega-3 and Omega-6 supplements can often have too much of a good thing, and create more problems than those that they're trying to prevent: for instance, excess Omega-6 supplements can cause existing cancers to spread to other parts of the body. And that's when prostate cancer becomes deadly. Not good.

But the Omega-3s and Omega-6s present in food, like salmon, tuna or mackrel, are already at the correct balance. Omega-3s are also good for the heart and brain, and it makes your skin look fantastic.

The general guidelines for proper nutrition suggest eating fatty fish once each week. Fret not about the calories and fat content, it's good fat.
