Indian Prince Raghubir Singh Gohil recently cut off his only son and heir from the royal lineage following the younger man's open support of HIV/AIDS organizations in his very conservative region, and it was a very public humiliation. The Prince took out an ad in the local newspaper making the announcement, but denies any hard feeling towards his son:
It was all the more difficult considering we come from a royal family. I understand some people are different, I accept it. I had never interfered in his life but the fact remains that we are still a conservative society.
