Yaks About Yakking With Hillary Clinton, Among Others

matosonoprah.jpg
Dina McGreevey ' Silent Partner publicity campaign keeps on trucking. Now that the former first lady of New Jersey has sliced and diced ex-hubbie,Jim McGreevey on Oprah, she's moved on to the lesser read, yet just as splash worthy, Newsweek. Sitting down with Karen Breslau, Mrs. M again dishes the dirt on her soon-to-be dissolved marriage.

In addition to addressing that infamous "Gay American speech," Dina goes on to explain how she received advice from another scorned - albeit far more shrewd - woman: Senator Hillary Clinton...

Johnny Diaz Denies Real Inspiration

catfight%21.jpg
Jim McGreevey and Dina Matos McGreevey aren't the only couple with a book war on their hands. Former Real Worlder (and Queerty editor), Dan Renzi alleges that his journo-ex, Johnny Diaz, used him as inspiration in Diaz's new book, Boston Boys Club.

The book - Diaz's first - follows the trials and tribulations of a gay Latino man named Tommy Perez. While Diaz admits Perez's life parallels his own, he adamantly denies that he based Perez's boyfriend, Kyle, on Renzi - who did not know of the so-called similarities until after The Advocate approached him about the article.

We have to admit, however, Kyle does sound a bit like Renzi: a "lean, preening model and former reality show star who makes a red-carpet entrance into the club every Thursday as if a swarm of cameras still follows his every move." Despite these characteristic coincidences, Diaz tells The Advocate:

Kyle is not Dan. There are a lot of former reality stars out there who want to be models. The characters in the book are all composites of people I've met and known over the years.
Renzi ain't buying it.

New, Religious Twist In Increasingly Ridiculous Drama

mcgxanadu.jpg
Jim McGreevey successfully stole the thunder from former beard, Dina Mato McGreevey's Oprah appearance. The Gay American "is entering a seminary amid reports that he wants to become an Episcopal priest," according to NYC's NBC affiliate, WNBC. IHT confirms that the formerly - and publicly - Catholic New Jersey governor has been embraced by the Episcopal Church. With this successful entry, McGreevey's plunging into the "discernment" phase, says IHT . This process which clears the pipes for deeper spiritual penetration and eventual priesthood. After all is said and done, McGreevey could looking at over three years on his knees for god. Dina best come out with a sequel. [Image source]

• Last week, The Advocate broke the story on Micron Technology's board of director's heavy-handed refusal to endorse a shareholder sponsored non-discrimination policy. Now the Boise, Idaho company has reversed it's position. From The Advocate:

Micron Technology Inc. decided Tuesday to amend its company policy so employees can no longer be fired on the basis of their sexual orientation. The move comes after The Advocate revealed last week that the Boise, Idaho, company’s board of directors had ignored an unprecedented 55% shareholder vote in favor of adding both sexual orientation and gender identity to its nondiscrimination policies.
Well done, homo-journos! Unfortunately, the board will not be including gender identity in their revised policy. Divide and conquer, huh?

• Don't forget all the homo-politicos. Referring to a string of recent political gains, Denis Dison of the Gay and Lesbian Victory Fund tells Deb Price: "We have seen in the last month at almost every major win, almost always there is an openly gay legislator behind that story." This article comes with complete "gay" political gain time line!

Former NJ First Lady Dispels Rumors, Plugs Book

Oprah welcomed Dina Matos McGreevey yesterday, giving the former Mrs. Gay American a chance to plug her book set the record straight about her marriage to Jim McGreevey. In addition to coming off like a real Jersey girl - despite her Portuguese background - Mrs. McG contradicts McGreevey's assertion that they prayed about his landmark speech (that didn't happen), Dina claims McGreevey never said, "I am gay". Rather, he gave her the news in "cowardly installments".

No matter how he explained it, however, poor, clueless Dina simply "wasn't absorbing it". What a shocker. Speaking of shock, Dina claims to have been in shock while McGreevey delivered his resignation, thus giving her that plasticine, Stepford Wife smile. Shock and the distinct possibility that she's had her brain surgically removed.

Judge Honors Dina's Queer Request

mcJL.jpg mcDR.jpg
As we mentioned Friday, Jim McGreevey and Dina McGreevey will share custody of their daughter, Jacqueline. The judge struck down Dina's request for sole custody, thus giving Jim the first win in what will likely be a series of ugly (and public) divorce battles. Not only that, Judge Karen Cassidy agreed with the former New Jersey Governor and appointed a mediator to "oversee" the five-year old's relationship with her parents. Jimmy Boy wasn't the only winner. His soon-to-be ex-wife scored one potentially anti-gay point...

And Some Other Stuff, Too...

Lisa Kudrow's a genius. The people who cancelled The Comeback are fools. That is all.

Paris Hilton's dead, naked body never looked so educational. Artist Daniel Edwards has created a life-size sculpture to highlight the "disturbingly glamorized trend of Hollywood's girls gone wild", according to TMZ. In twenty year's time, Hilton's real body will be doing that on its own.

Michael Lucas' former right hand, Heather "Reznor" Fink and her comedy troupe sure like meat. Especially in panties. And they say the porn industry doesn't fuck you up.

Gene Robinson on New Hampshire's new civil union laws: "I think this moves us one step closer to the American promise to all its citizens of equality under the law. My partner and I look forward to taking full advantage of the new law." No more living in sin for those boys!

Class Comics, Inc: totally NSFW gay superhero fun.

Jim McGreevey and Dina Matos have "agreed" on joint custody of their daughter. Also, McGreevey's faggotry apparently is "not significant".

Posh and Becks must be stopped.

VH1 has made a career out of making New York's career.

• From PageOneQ: "[A] Bentonville, AR man is seeking $20,000 in damages and the firing of the town's top librarian, claiming his two sons were disturbed after stumbling upon The Whole Lesbian Sex Book in the town's public library." Only $20,000? Fuck, it's The Whole Lesbian Sex Book. That's a lot of information, definitely deserving of $25,000.

Also, "Buy My Book!"

smallmcG.jpg
The McGreevey divorce drama takes another ugly turn this morning. Old Jimmy, the former New Jersey governor and self-proclaimed homo, alleges that his former wife, Dina, knew of his yen for the men.

Dina McGreevey hopes to set the record - um - straight in her new book, Silent Partner. In the ghost-written memoir, Dina McG claims not to have known about McGreevey's mary ways until days before he resigned. Jim, however, claims the book's just as crooked as his political career. He wrote in a sworn affidavit:

Although it is clear that (Matos McGreevey) knew of my sexual orientation before our marriage, she chose to either ignore it or block it out of her mind, even when questioned by her friends

Now that it's out that I AM A GAY AMERICAN [his emphasis] she will try to rewrite history claiming me to be bisexual. This is homophobia in its worst form.

As further evidence, McGreevey's lawyer offer Jim's own book, The Confession, in which he describes a 2002 confrontation with his then-wife during which she asked him, "Are you gay?" Now that's a lawyer: discrediting a witness and shameless promotion!

Speaking of shameless: we're not sure which McGreevey's lower. It may be a tie. It seems to us they're both pretty disgusting. Hopefully their manipulative ways won't taint their daughter, over whom they're fighting so viciously.

Circle of Jerks Kept Gay Ways Quiet

mcgreev.jpg

We said it was going to get ugly between Jim McGreevey and his soon-to-be-former wife Diana Matmos-McGreevey, but even we weren't prepared for the deluge of skeletons that have come out of the couple's closet in the past handful of days.

Now comes word that Jimmy McG's former Missus supposedly knew about her husband's penchant for tube steak throughout his tenure as Governor of New Jersey but "let it slide" for years, according to the cover story of today's New York Post, beginning as far back as McGreevey's failed 1997 stab at the governor's office against Christie Todd Whitman:

"During the Whitman race, the whispers about Jim were already circling," a Post source states. "There was a small circle of people who knew the truth. He was seeing men."

Apparently they forgot to tell Mrs. McGreevey that he was having sex with them, too.

Gay Divorcee Doesn’t Know Art, but Knows What She Doesn’t Like

mcgreeveyportrait.jpg

mcgreev.jpg

Custody hearings between former New Jersey governor Jim McGreevey and his wife may be getting ugly, but the evidence is lookin’ gor-geous! Just before the close of last week we posted a late-breaking snippet indicating that McSkeevy’s wife was digging down in the trenches in preparation of what’s shaping up to be bitter divorce proceedings as she and "Mr. Gay American" himself battle over their money, possessions and—perhaps most importantly—their daughter. Only days after the press learned that Diana Matos-McGreevey took exception to a nude photograph by artist Richard Renaldi that her former huz had hanging in his bedroom, The New York Post got their paws on the pic in dispute and ran it in yesterday’s paper (along with a red box over the subject’s privies we can only assume wasn’t part of Renaldi’s original artistic vision).

While we agree with Matos-McGreevey that the Abercrombie look is passe, asking a judge to acknowledge it in open court does seem a bit much, doesn’t it?

The man may not know art, but he knows what he likes: nudity

renaldi.jpg

mcgreev.jpg

Diana Matos-McGreevey is on the warpath. After standing by her man during his term in office as Governor of New Jersey until his "I am a Gay American" speech ended said term in office and their marriage—and after standing away from that man as he made the rounds on a book tour that included a spot on Oprah's couch and media outlets across the country—the gal is ready to do things her way.

In addition to releasing a book in which she tells her side of their sham marriage tale, Matos-McGreevey is telling the court handling her divorce proceeding that she should be awarded custody of their daughter. 365Gay reports:

She also wants the court to prohibit Jacqueline from seeing the "life-size photograph of a nude male model" by artist Richard Renaldi. McGreevey and his partner took down the photo from the master bedroom, Matos McGreevey said, but only after she threatened to withhold visitation.

Asks For "Balanced" Child Support

mcmarried.jpg
The McGreevey divorce took another ugly turn yesterday when former New Jersey governor Jim McGreevey filed a more detailed custody request. The gay American previously asked of sole custody of his daughter with Dina McGreevey.

In papers filed Monday, however, the disgraced homo-politico insisted he wants to share custody, but did ask for some stipulations. For example, he has explicitly requested their daughter, Jacqueline, not join her mother on her impending book tour for her ghost written memoir, Silent Partner. Philadelphia's NBC affiliate reports:

In the latest filing, McGreevey accused his estranged wife of having the child be part of publicity interviews... The girl has been taken to the set of Good Morning America, been in Kelly Ripa's dressing room on the set of Kelly and Regis, and joined Matos McGreevey and Diane Sawyer for coffee, according to the motion.

"Jacqueline should not be taken on any publicity tours," McGreevey stated in the motion. "Jacqueline should not be involved in any media or publicity events related to either of the books written by the parties. Jacqueline will not accompany either parent to any book fairs, book signings, interviews or to such events where she may be subject to publicity."

Sitting in Ripa's dressing room and sipping with Sawyer hardly seem like publicity. In fact, it seems that McGreevey's parading of his daughter's "well-being" in the press brings her more ink than anything else. Further, meeting such influential and powerful women can only help his daughter, not hurt her. Wouldn't he want her to meet as many people as possible? He did, after all, tell the judge:
Dina and I both seek to serve the interests of our daughter. It is my hope the court would provide for an added measure of balance and nurturing of Jacqueline's interests.
Perhaps he has a slanted definition of "interest" - he's asked to take his daughter to Australia to meet his lover's parents. Hmm, meeting media giants or a boyfriend's parents? Not really balanced, but okay...

Tells Story Dina Wishes She Could

spcoverH.jpg
Dina McGreevey may want to tell her story, but its her ghost-writer who's doing all the talking. Fordham University professor Elizabeth Stone recently read from Jim McGreevey's former beard's forthcoming, Silent Partner: A Memoir of My Marriage.

In the excerpt, McGreevey reflects on "writing" the marital memoir:

It has for me been a healing venture. It allowed me to move on with my life. It is my conviction that others can survive as well. This is my story about my experience as I lived it at the moment - and not quite the same thing - about my experience as I look back on it. Tell others your story as I tell you mine. Don't let others tell it for you.
Interesting, especially considering these nuggets of wisdom are being read by McGreevey's ghost writer.

Stone describes writing the "recollection" of the McGreevey's sham marriage as "a complicated process to elicit recollections and emotions from a woman who was frequently seen but rarely heard," according to The Star-Ledger. And so it should be. Jim McGreevey lied to his perpetually confused wife wife for ten years and, according to Stone, he may be lying to the nation. Stone says, "He's really a bisexual American, but it didn't have the same panache". A politician lying about being gay for publicity? The 21st century's crazy!

Stoner also compares McGreevey to Mona Lisa - a bit of a backward comparison, we think. Leonardo da Vinci's classic painting has perplexed scholars for years. Dina McGreevey, meanwhile - she's just perplexed (see book's cover).
