Norwegian musical trio Kings of Convenience first caught our ear back in 2001, with their whimsical full-length, Quiet is the New Loud. They impressed us again with 2004's Riot on an Empty Street, from which this single - "I'd Rather Dance With You" - originates.
There's no word on whether the Kings will be offering more aural, leading some people to assume they've called it quits. Their website, of course, insists otherwise.
nice song, but please NO MORE videos with dorky white guys dancing out. First it was Ok Go, and now every indie band has to have the groovy white nerd busting a move.
Love the band, love the song. I don't know, I think they tried a little too hard to capture the Napeolon Dynamite thing here (Ok Go is a bit of a stretch.)
The humble, dorky, sort of cute dancing is going to stay with indie bands though. Could you imagine an Of Montreal video with a bunch of Madonna's backup dancers?
