Afternoon Aural: Phoenix Foundation
These Could Be Trying Times...

We'd like to dedicate this little diddy to our tranny friends. "Let Me Die A Woman" comes to us from the New Zealand-based The Phoenix Foundation's 2004 full-length, Horse Power.

We can't help but wonder if they got it from the Doris Wishman 1978 doco on revolutionary sex-change surgeon, Dr. Leo Wollman of the same name.

Hey there, just found this (embarrasingly) well googling my own band. Thanks for posting our video, we did indeed get the name from the doco. A film which to be honest seemed to be a little exploitive.

but anyway although us hairy NZ fat musicians make pretty bad trannies we are very happy you have put us on your site.

cheers
