The Pink Pistols may be controversial today, but they come nowhere near British punksters Siouxsie and The Banshees. Fronted by the inimitable Siouxsie Sioux and backed by a who's who of Anglo-music legends, including Sid Vicious and Robert Smith, the cacophony crooners made waves with the dark sound and even darker look, one that employed bondage and fascist symbols.
This controversy helped propel the ever-changing cast's career over three decades. Most recently, Siouxsie reunited with permanent bassist, Steven Severin and drummer, Budgie, for a 2001 tour. And, rumor has it, Ms. S has signed a solo deal with Universal.
Anyway, here's the crazy kids' "Slowdive" from their fifth album, A Kiss in the Dreamhouse.
Okay, being a huge Siouxsie head, I have to say that while I'm impressed to see a video I did not know existed, I'm equally perplexed that you'd post this particular one as an example of how dark Siouxsie gets. This is by far one of the campiest, gayest vids the Banshees ever put out, and they released some hum dingers in their later years.
"Spellbound" might have been an obvious selection, but only because it's Siouxsie at her most sublime. "Israel" would have at least been seasonally appropriate and "Arabian Knights" might not have been bad either...
What about the Creatures? "Right Now" is a fun one.
Also, I think there's a Brit in drag doing Siouxsie on youtube somewhere...

Ok, I'm home sick and have fallen into a Banshee pit...
Apparently Siouxsie was in the Zone back in 1981... Clips from this concert in Cologne are all pure punk genius:
