So, we're taking a big chance here with Soundgarden's 1994 hit "Black Hole Sun". Some of you may not remember and perhaps another sect would rather forget, but this track has always been one of our favorite hard rock selections.
Even if you're not into this kind of music, you have to admit the video's fucking brilliant, genius and simply spectacular. And, to those of you who appreciate, rock on...
The version that Queerty readers may find more interesting is Steve and Edie's
damn ! matt beat me to it.... steve and edie's version is (seriously) one of my all-time favorites. it's on some cocktail song compilation cd the title of which presently escapes me ... but it's well worth seeking out.
I applaud you breaking down the musical barriers stereotypes with a song I really dig.
However, I'm going to respond with perhaps the gayest comment I'll ever write:
My favorite cover of this song is when Sandra Bernhard imitates Liza Minellil doing it. F'ing brilliant.
yeaaaaah. Soundgarden rocks my socks off--thanks!
Love that song. And, hey, both the band and the song are named after public sculptures in Seattle. There are hundreds of pics of guys inside Black Sun taken at the ol-time Pride Festival at Volunteer Park.
And besides... Chris Cornell is so damn hot. Too bad he'd started wearing a shirt by that time.
