Afternoon Aural: Xiu Xiu
Where Will We Go Tonight?


We love socially-conscious queer punksters. No doubt, then, we adore California-born Xiu Xiu. Founded in 2000 by Jamie Stewart and Cory McColloch, the art rock collective features a rotating cast of characters and subjects. Their art rock touches on everything from war to sexuality. Regardless of the set-up - or the subject - Xiu Xiu pumps out the hits, like "Boy Soprano" from last year's The Air Force.
