


Sure, we listened to our fair share of Cher as faglings, but that doesn't mean we weren't bopping to legendary hip-hopsters A Tribe Called Quest. Free of the maschismo inherent in so much rap of the time, the New York-bred trio (and sometimes quartet, when rapper Jarobi White decided to join in) broke new musical ground, injecting some much needed repose into the posturing scene.
