The embattled Clay Aiken may be following in the footsteps of fellow gay crooner Lance Bass with the release of his new album A Thousand Different Ways. The track listing reminds us of a gay karaoke night, and we can't help but agree with Michael K at Dlisted in thinking that Clay is trying to send us all a message, even if he can't speak it out loud.
Highlights include "Here You Come Again," originally recorded by Dolly Parton, "Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word," originally recorded by Elton John, "Right Here Waiting," originally recorded by Richard Marx, and "Because You Loved Me," originally recorded by Celine Dion.
Gayken's New Album to Clear Up his Sexuality [Dlisted]
I followed the link you gave to DLISTED to see if Clay Aiken really is coming out. This DLIST web site had 112 homophobic, solidly anti-gay comments on it.
I come to Queerty to escape the homophobes. Please don't give us links to their anti-gay rantings.
The DLIST article was actually homophobic in intent, too. They assume that because Clay's song selections are LAME, he must be GAY. Pathetic. That was the full extent of their "proof" that Clay is coming out.
Uh, no, there aren't 112 solidly anti-gay comments there, because I posted a couple of times and I can assure you my comments were not homophobic in the least. There were quite a few other reasonable comments there as well, mixed in with all the dreck.
And for the record, I don't think his song choices are lame, though I'd have preferred less covers, and I'm looking forward to buying the album when it comes out.
Clay Aiken, gay ??? Say it ain't so ... it just can't be.
