Kylie's Forgotten Duet

kylie-kermit.jpg

We haven't felt so moved this early in the morning in a long time, for we have just witnessed some true stage chemistry. Back in 2001 Kylie Minogue performed her hit song "Especially for You" with Kermit the Frog for a television special, and watching it reminds us why we are so excited that Kylie is returning to the stage after her fight with breast cancer. She lights up the room and those around her, even a stuffed green puppet.

Watch the duet after the jump.

This is from a long-running series called "An Audience With ...", made in the UK and honours the biggest and best stars in Britain. Although I hate the song 'cos it was way to slushy and sentimental and stayed at the top of the UK charts for far too long (forgive me Kylie), I absolutely loved this segment and watched the show when it was first broadcast here in Britain. The series is best known for featuring stand ups and comedians including Billy Connolly, perennial British gay fave, Victoria Wood (you Americans really need to find out more about her) and renowned and much loved and known gay comic actor Kenneth Williams. If you haven't seen anything with Kenneth Williams you really ought to. He played comic gay parts in the BBC radio series Round the Horne and was known/assumed to be gay and performed these parts before being gay was decriminalised in Britain. Just for being 'Sandy' in the 'Julian and Sandy' segments alone he should be revered by British gays. He's probably most known to the US for his regularly featuring in the cheesy 'Carry On' films.
