Musical Notes: Scissor Sisters
More Gay Than Lance, But Not As Gay As You

After our Afternoon Delight video of Lance Lamar, a reader named Kevin lamented that we don't post enough gay videos.

Actually, we disagree. Sure, we posted White Town the other day and JJ Fad yesterday, but in the not-so-distant past we posted Cazwell 's "Do You Wanna Break Up" video and another for "Q.B.O.Y. (Is Just So Fly)".

Still, we want to make it up to you, Kevin, so this video's just for you. It's a live performance of "Kiss You Off" from Ta-Dah, the most recent aural offering from queer-popsters, Scissor Sisters.

You're welcome.

meh. the second album was, basically, a disappointment. i wasn't thrilled about "i don't feel like dancing" because it was a bit too elton john-y, and i'm not thrilled by "kiss you off," though it's one of the better tracks on the record, because (as the video here aptly shows) it's a bit too blondie-y. not that blondie isn't great - they are. but if i want to hear blondie i'll listen to blondie.

the best track on the record is, by far, "i can't decide," which i suspect might be the best because it's the only track (other than the "intermission") under the three-minute mark. there are about three really quite good songs on the album, but it's certainly nowhere close to their debut in terms of artistry.

what really killed it for me, though, was AfterElton's interview with Jake when they asked "Speaking of “I Can't Decide,” violence also rears its head in that song, as well as in “She's My Man.” Would you say that is a reflection of the current state of the world?" which, to my mind, is one of the most idiotic questions i've ever seen. at least Jake had enough sense to deflect it.

I feel really special. :) The guys look hot. I especially like Jake.

Ok, you placated me for now. BTW, I was talking about the eye candy. Almost all of it is of straight men. Anyway I appreciate that you are concerned with what the readers are thinking.
