You guys may have noticed last week's QueerFeed posting on a man named Vincent Brothers accused of killing his wife Joanie Harper, her mother and their three children. In the grand tradition of gay scapegoating, Brothers' attorney alleged that Joanie and her friend Kelsey Spann were lesbians. Looking to get back at Vincent, he said, Spann framed him for the murder.
Though Brothers maintains his innocence, he also rebuffs Joannie's alleged lesbianism. Bakersfield NBC affiliate KGET reports:
[I]n a letter mailed to the Bakersfield Californian Wednesday from Lerdo Jail, Brothers disputed that theory, and said allegations his wife was involved in a lesbian affair are not true. It's worth noting that Brothers did not dismiss the notion that Spann's the real killer, intimating that she may have been angry at Joanie's mother's disapproval of their friendship. He said the rumors were started by “those who were envious of Joanie’s athletic ability and Christian values.”
Okay, there are two possibilities in this case. One, Brothers wouldn't hurt a fly and wants to preserve his beloved wife's saint-lile memory. Or, he killed her and would rather take more heat than have people thinking his wife ate pussy. That's way worse than, well, almost anything. Except murder. Murder ain't fresh. Pussy, on the other hand, can be fresh as a daisy. And twice as colorful!
