There was an article in the college paper, The Columbia Spectator, where the author correctly points out that many people don't come out not over fear of what family and friends will say; but over fear of what other gays will say. This horrendous crime had nothing to do with internet chat rooms and/or "crusing". Jeffrey Dahmer didn't need a chat room and neither did David Reid.
