We were just sifting through our inbox and a particular piece of electronic mail caught our eye. Said email concerns our old friends Todd and Sabrina Farber, the agriculturalists whose homo-hating ways brought them international infamy. Entitled "Yeah to the Farbers", the not-so-love note comes from a man named Randal and reads: "Just be glad they don't believe in killing gays."
Well, yes, Randal, we are glad the Farbers don't believe in killing gays. We're thankful to anyone who doesn't want to kill the gays. In fact, we tend to like - or, at least, have a bit of respect for - anyone who doesn't believe in murder at all.
Then, as we scrolled on through our lovely homepage, we noticed a comment on Garden Guy Profits From Gay Hate: the posting in which we detailed the disgustingly massive amount of business all this negative press has brought the Farbers. Anyway, here's what good ol' Randal had to say:
Take the pain, all of you.Trying to carry on any meaningful conversation with any of you about the teachings of Christ is like trying to talk to an epileptic in the middle of a seizure.
Just because they stink doesn't mean they can't smell you.
The difference here is that the Farbers smell like horse shit and bug poison, while we smell like Marc Jacobs cologne with the vaguest touch of cigarettes, coffee and sexiness. Ain't nothing sexy about horse shit, Randal. Even Jesus knows that.

I honestly believe that if we supported each other like the people who are giving business to the Farbers we would be farther ahead in gay rights. I really can't talk though. I've never done anything to further gay rights. I go to work, and try to live my life without rocking the boat. I wouldn't even know where to begin in supporting the gay rights movement.
hey guys
trust me on this, as i live in texas. it is the butthole of the bible belt. one can easily get their car bashed for having a pro choice bumper sticker.
here is the clincher though.......THE DALLAS OBSERVER
our local "alternative" paper is not only run by a
pentecostal (holy roller) who prayed her gay away, but is also supervised bya lady who was part of the swift boating of john kerry.
like any local "alternative" paper it is sponsered by titty bars, sex ads, how to score valium etc.
however, they defend christians who kill their children,
bash liberals, or anyone that questions christianity.
it is fucked up.

Hey Matt - you've inspired me to compile a list of things people can to do fight for our rights. I'll compile it soon and post it on my website.
I used to be very politically active in college - a friend and I spearheaded an initiative and successfully petitioned the city council in my college town (Ames, Iowa) to add sexual orientation to the list of protected classes in housing and employment back in the late 80's. We also started a mock fraternity called Phi Alpha Gamma (fag) to help bring awarness of homophobia in the Greek system on campus. And lots more fun stuff......
Anyway, I live in SF now, and things are pretty comfortable here so I forget sometimes about the need to still fight. Your comment started the fire again. Stay tuned - there are plenty of EASY things you can do to help the movement.

That is such a typical response from many “Christians”. Making the assumption that we believe in the myth of Jesus Christ in the first place. Let alone give “Christianity” enough credibility to deem it important enough for discussion. The “Christians” with closed minds always seem to have open mouths. (and they never stop running them).
Jackejett, I have to agree with you about the Dallas Observer. I read the article she had wrote about how much she was attracted to women, but then she prayed and got married. Her description of her attraction to women was much more believable.
Homophobia is so gay! Hatred is so Christian, yet so un-Christ-like. Jesus taught against closeted self-hatred, and overtly bashing others with these words, "Love your neighbor as yourself." Randal, learn to love yourself as the gay man God created you to be.
So Matt - here's a start...... I only have 7 right now, but I'm at work and actually have to do SOME real work today :-) I'll add more soon.
10 things you can do to further the gay rights movement
Cool thanks, Jase! Great suggestions every one. I especially like the idea learning how to defend yourself. For some weird reason, it seems like fag-bashers tend to prefer using physical violence against gays, i.e, fists, bats, overwhelming numbers, etc. They never expect that a gay gay will turn around and kick them upside the head.
Amen, sister! I started Tae kwon do a few years ago, and although I've not had to use it (thank goodness), I feel totally prepared for any situation that might arise and am much more self-confident.
Well, well, well.
Once again, you seem to have a corner on the truth market, claiming to know what Jesus knows, lauding your own odor, and your own warped sense of morality in that you claim to have some "respect" for people who don't believe in murder at all...of course, all the while the Farbers children have been threatened with sodomy and death threats against their lives becuase they, just as you do now, stood up for their beliefs.
You want to be gay? Knock yourself out. You want respect from the rest of the majority heterosexual world? Then model the respect you want. If you don't want people gay-bashing, the stop the rhetoric against non-gays, Christians, or any other religion or group that isn't exactly like you.
But for you to really do what I'm asking would mean you have the capacity for it, and this whole blog is built on the fun you have bashing us all, right?
Bash away. Take all your pot shots at me. I'm not your friend. The more you bash, the more you make me and whole host of us want to be rid of you. Fuel your own fire.
Because if you actually stopped, then you might not have anything to whine about, then would you? You might actually gain some respect and authentic sympathy. But no, you won't do that.
Even as you read this, you are framing in your mind the digs, quips and retorts you can make. And in so doing you absolve yourself from assuming responsibility for your own life, and how you could use that same power to influence some respect for you.
I make no profession to be like Christ. I'm more like the guy who deserves hell and knows it. I'll make no bones about the fact that I'm probably a worse sinner than anyone of you ever dreamed of being. But I know any man, Christ or otherwise who says, "Do not return evil with evil, but return evil with good," has to be one so unlike me, it commands my admiration.
About the only thing we have in common is my desire to insult you and shut you up and be rid of your kind, just like you want the same of me. That's our common ground.
I've said enough. Now take your best verbal shot. I'm ready.
If there were in the world today any large number of people who desired their own happiness more than they desired the unhappiness of others, we could have paradise in a few years.
