The Swedish Lutheran Church may be opening its doors to homos, but Canada's Archbishop Terrence Prendergast just shut the door on two, namely Daniel Poirier and his husband Jack Murphy.
The two 69-year olds took advantage of Canada's marriage laws and tied the knot four months ago. To celebrate, the gents proudly posted their picture in the paper. Church officials, meanwhile, weren't so pleased and promptly gave the boys the boot.
While the boys are allegedly welcome at the Church, they are no longer allowed to receive holy communion (you know, when the Catholics feast on Christ's "body" and "blood"), nor can Poirier direct the choir. Of these moves, Poirier remarks:
The hardest thing is when people go to communion and we have to sit down... It breaks my heart to hear that music and I can't be part of it.
They've since joined a new church. Guess they couldn't live without that gay geezer action. And, really, who can blame them? Go on with your sexy selves, gents!
