Peter Pace Stands Strong
Meehan Speaks Out Against "Immoral" Statements

peterpaceH2.jpg
General Peter Pace ain't budging. As gay rights activists blast his denunciation of homosexuality as "immoral", his staffers insist the chairman of the Joint Chiefs will not retract his revolting comments.

Pace's senior staff members said Tuesday that the general was expressing his personal opinion and had no intention of apologizing. They spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not allowed to speak on the record.
Meanwhile, Representative Marty Meehan - who has been leading the charge against Don't Ask, Don't Tell - took a little time to criticize Pace:
General Pace's statements aren't in line with either the majority of the public or the military... He needs to recognize that support for overturning (the policy) is strong and growing... [The military is] turning away good troops to enforce a costly policy of discrimination.
If there's one thing the military has never understood, it's logic.

Funny how it all boils down to the religious bigotry of a few generals at the top. Homosexuality is immoral, so it's OK to discriminate.

Of course, his position is interally flawed: if it's imoral, he should be *against* don't-ask-don't-tell for "tolerating" immorality, not supporting it... He wants to say that it's OK to discriminate "a little." You can't have it both ways.

Let's hope he continues to get plenty of heat for his comments--especially from current & former generals like Shalikashvili who have had their eyes opened.

He was just giving his opinion, don't get your panties in a twist. Actually his views are in line with a majority of the country, not just the military.

How convenient that he clumps homosexuality and adultery together as "immoral", yet fails to mention sex before marriage as immoral. "Flames, on the side of my face...."

Hurray for Peter PAce. He has a something that is lacking in politics and our "leadership" - a BACKBONE! It's about time we quit coddling the queers! They are not "gay" - they are QUEER! The queers hijacked and bastardized the word "gay". Look at most "gay" people, they are some of the most unhappy people I have seen and it's not because they are "persecuted". Queers want to force people to accept their lifestyle and I for one NEVER will!
