Alright, back to religiously minded news for a second: Britain's Archbishop Vincent Nichols defended Catholic schools' bully-policing tactics. The government wants them to actively fight homophobic bullying in Catholic schools, but officials object to discussing sexual practices in school.
Nichols also said:
If you begin to pick out particular sections then the list of special policies is going to get very long and there probably would not be too much room on the walls to accommodate it.And besides, one can't teach not to bully a group the church itself admonishes. That would be hypocritical. And if there's one thing the Church is not, it's hypocritical.
Although, we have to admit - injecting specifically pro-gay tutelage would open up a whole can of worms. Then you'd have to teach kids not to pick on black people, deaf people, kids with freckles, that kids with eleven fingers, that little girl who can't grow hair...the list goes on...
(On an unrelated note - we have to give the Catholics props: their leaders have some pretty pimpish threads.)
