We've been noticing the crunchier side of Walmart since earlier this year when they debuted their new fashion forward TV commercials (you know the ones we mean: "it's time to change, time to re-a-rrange") and their plan to greenify their stories and work with local communities.
Basically they are now doing the opposite of what they have been doing these last few years. Either they are finally listening to the people, their budget is looking grim, or they have new management. Maybe it's a combination of factors, but the latest is that they have hired the Witeck-Combs ad agency, which works with super-gay American Airlines, hippy-friendly Volvo, and other clients.
Of course, Rev. Donald Wildmon and his American Family Association, fresh off their completely pointless and ineffectual boycott of Ford, is set to boycott Walmart. Good luck Reverend. We just don't see it happening.

It is about time Walmart came out of the closet!
This is good new because they say they have good deals.
I have a friend who told me that security people at Walmarts would follow him around the stores and that the people working at Walmart would make fun of him because he was openlygay. I hope this will bring an end to their gay bashing days.

I think its good Walmart is supporting the gay lifestyle.
I still won't shop there though because most of their products are low quality junk. I have better taste than Walmart provides.
Just because Walmart joins a gay business association doesn't mean the support gay rights.

Back to what i was saying...my computer messed up...when Christ returns and they are sent to an eternity of fire. I pray for gays and lesbians daily. They are lost.
Wal-Mart is a company first and foremost, so naturally they are inclined to steer their business to what is profitable, or what they feel will encourage more sales. Therefore Wal-Mart gets all cozy with the conservatives by not selling 'naughty explicit' music, gets cozy with the liberals and environmentalist's by proclaiming they are going 'green'. (Conservative's aren't concerned about the environment, they only worry about who are going to heaven and hell.) They are also trying to win the adoration of the gay community too, seemingly by trying to find covert ways to market to that community. Somehow I think Wal-Mart will attempt to keep the news of its gay-friendly advertising out of the headlines, simply because they don't want to frighten away their conservative clientel.
