



If you're looking to educate your kids on homosexuality, you may want to steer clear of Washington State. According to a recent survey, 23% of the state's schools have refused to educate their pupils on homosexuality. In related news, while grades 5-12 learn about HIV transmission, some administrators say they're more focused on teaching abstinence, rather than common safe-sex practices. 365 Gay reports:

As for the people who teach abstinence, one can't help but wish their parents had known about condoms, especially considering the other news: an estimated 4 million high school kids contract an STD every year. Talk about adult education.Seventy percent of the districts surveyed said they stress abstinence in their curricula, but also include information about birth control and condom use to stop the spread of sexually transmitted diseases, the report noted.
