Mike Jones Succumbs to Inevitability: Signs Book Deal
Rated XXX

jonessm2.jpg
We knew it was only a matter of time until Ted Haggard taker-(go)-downer Mike Jones would spin his time fellating the disgraced Evangelical into a tawdry tell-all. While the 49-year old former hustler won't say how much Seven Stories Press is paying him, he insists the book is not a means of revenge. He tells The Miami Herald:

It's not a book about bashing Ted at all. It's humanizing him as a person with feelings and emotions and desires... I'm going to be explicit as far as what happened in our encounters, but not to rip him apart or be mean to him. He's a man who has faults like all of us.
What we can't understand is why Seven Stories Press wants the Mike Jones story, anyway. They've previously published work by Octavia Butler, Noam Chomsky and Kurt Vonnegut - seems to us an entire volume dedicated to a hooker's recollections of a hypocritical prick is a bit below them. Not according to publisher Dan Simon. He defends Jones, saying:
It was Mike's courage and strength of conscience that ultimately led him to come forward about the hypocrisy of Haggard's life... We're proud to be publishing this important story from an articulate and brave man.
Yeah, we admit that Jones played an important part in the continuing saga that is gay history, but articulate? Consider this snippet from his oft-cited interview with Jack E. Jett:
JJ: Bottom, or power bottom?
MJ: Well, let me just say ... yes, bottom.
We would of preferred, "It would be unfair for me to describe him as a bottom, for when I tried to ram him from behind he screamed like a banshee. Thus, I must describe him as simply a bottom." Maybe it was just the editing.

Even if Seven Stories Press does NOT offer Mike Jones the book deal, there will be other publishers who want his story. There is a potential market for his book. Why are you so against the idea that Mike Jones get a book deal? If you are NOT interested in his story, there are others who would love to buy his book and support him financially and emotionally. If you do NOT like chocolate, you cannot stop others who love them and want to buy them. Whether is Mike Jones articulate or not, it is NOT up to you to judge him. He is a handsome 49 years old hooker with a great physique and bravery. What do yourself has to offer to the gay community by simply writing an unthoughtful column. Mike Jones is a hero to the gay communtiy. And he will forever for the rest of the gay history. Don't you think that we need to record gay history, Stupid?

Woa, Chris, chill.

In fact, I agree that Mike Jones deserves a lofty representation in the press. Why? His story, if well told and presented in the market, will remain as the benchmark for the gay Christian right's hypocrisy. Haggard's isn't the only story, as we know from the flurry of right wing Christian outings since Jones broke the story. Kudos to him.

Hmmm seems the nagging complaining pms writer of the article above has some jealousy issues to clear. Maybe he can't get a date as hot as Mike Jones, dunno. Most likely he can't get any date at all worth having. Does thankless jerk hit the mark?

Regardless, I'd say stuff it and be thankful someone unlike you, has the bull balls to take on the Christian Rot. Mike Jones is holding up the holy gay cross saying, we're cumm'in down off that cross of persecution, and here's the boomerang, genuflect genuflect BAMM.

Mike is history. He helped put the nail in the coffin of the republican majority hold in politics. The ripple effect of Mike's actions are elaborate and penetrating and give us all cause for repose at what we do for liberation of our community, besides natter and ridicule out of self hate.

You should have honor just uttering Mike's name. If you do not, then as Sir John Gielgud put it so elequently to Liza in the movie Arthur, "try not to speak".
