One can't help but feel bad for the Episcopal Church: they're losing friends left and right. First those douches in Virginia threaten to pack up and align with Nigeria, now Tanzania's calling it quits.
365 Gay reports:
The Anglican Church of Tanzania declared Tuesday that it was cutting ties with the Episcopal Church in the United States and would refuse to accept any assistance from Episcopal bishops, institutions or individuals that condone homosexuality. As you may be aware, the brouhaha began with the 2003 ordination of openly gay Archbishop Gene Robinson. With acceptance of gay marriage by some and the ordinations of more gay officials, it's gone from a little spat to a full blown holy civil war. Earlier this year, a group of Latin American, Africa and Asian churches met in Rwanda to discuss creating their own Anglican body apart from their American comrades.
The group, known as The Global South (which includes Nigeria, Tanzania, Congo, and many others), hope to form a group as strong - if not stronger - than the stupid yanks. And, you know, we think that's fine. Why should the pro-gay organizations in America help anti-gay groups elsewhere? That doesn't make any sense.
So, we take it back: we don't feel bad for the American Episcopalians - you guys are better off. It's kind of like a break-up, you know. Someone new will come along, join your club and you can ejaculate wave after wave of happy gay-friendly churchiness. Or something...
Oh, hell. We don't need no stinkin' Tanzanians! Every Episcopal Church in NYC is gay-friendly and chock fulla queers!
Well I guess next time I go to Tanzania I won't be allowed Communion, seeing how I am a big old gay Episcopalian in San Francisco. Is that tragic or what??
And, may I add, may God have mercy on us all for all that we perpetrate in his Son's name.
And, YES! We are/will be better off without the modern-day Pharisees. The sooner the rest leave, the sooner we can focus on healing the damage they have done.
