Gay Activist Tired Of The Lies!
Offers Senseless Tonic

It's been a little over two months since Evangelical Preacher man Ted Haggard's cock-sucking, meth-loving secret life first came to light. In the days and weeks that followed, it seemed every Dick, Tom and Jane were writing op-eds, articles and examinations on the sensational sex scandal. Given this bounty, one would think that some sort of journalistic saturation point would have been reached. Not so.

We've come across a number of Haggard-related texts in recent days, but we're particularly drawn to DC-based homo-tivist Peter Rosenstein's op-ed. No, he doesn't offer any new information on the sensational scandal, nor does he fly into a rant on the hypocrisy of Evangelical Christians. In fact, he follows the well-trod road off lamenting the culture of lies that surrounds sexuality. He does, however, offer a - er - fresh antidote: "Sexual Honesty Day".

On SHD, Rosenstein says, the world will celebrate their, well, sexual honesty.

On Sexual Honesty Day everyone in the world would declare whether they are straight or gay or bi. We would allow all those priests and religious zealots and members of Congress to be honest for just one day. They would be given amnesty and couldn’t lose their jobs or be thrown out by their congregations or constituents. They would simply have the wonderful feeling of being honest with themselves and others for one day of their lives.
Awww, how cute, but isn't there already that whole National Coming Out Day? Sure, it's meant for the gays to announce their penchant for same-sex love, but couldn't we just use a little process of elimination? Also, sexual honesty day may open a whole carnal can of worms (pictured).

Rosenstein goes on to explain that by depoliticizing faggotry, we would open the political landscape for more pressing matters, like education. Wh-wh-what? Without political gay-baiting and sex scandals, what in the world will we write about? More importantly, where would that leave Rosenstein's beloved: Joe Solmonese? Although, being broke and homeless may be worth never having to read another one of his trite press releases, so we're on board.
