Hundreds of Sacramento-area students rallied to support four students suspended for wearing anti-gay shirts. One participant said: "It's only going to get worse against Christians. We're going to get persecuted more and more. But those who stand to the end: God is going to save them." Um, right...

Sony's banking on Spider Man 3. Literally. Some insiders claim the flick cost $300 million to produce. No doubt, however, it'll make it back. And then some.

The International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission will honor Nepal's Blue Diamond Society for all their hard activist work. Unfortunately, they will not be honored with actual blue diamonds.

We've never quite understood Kate Moss and Pete Doherty's relationship. Now we do. And they're kind of cute. Still total nutters, but cute...

Maryland's House has passed a bill requiring health insurance companies to extend benefits to same-sex partners and children. The bill now needs to be signed by the governor to become a law. (We totally just had a School House Rock flashback.)

Robbie Williams may have ditched Take That! to embrace his bad boy image, but some are saying the recently rehabbed singer's mulling a musical reunion. Um, is that supposed to be a career booster or a death rattle?

21-year old Akino George has been sentenced to eight years in prison for his role in the beating of gay singer, Kevin Aviance. Like his violent cohorts, George copped a plea. Smart fucker...

Stephen Bennett

We continue our So Gay! feature with a list of some of the bad guys we faced this year. Most of the people who ended up on our list of Villains for 2005 turned out to be people directly responsible for our rights; politicians. And we found out at least one of them was secretly playing for our team!

5. James West. The Republican mayor of Spokane repeatedly voted against gay rights while in the Washington State Legislature. This year he suffered through a very public outing and a sex scandal that eventually brought him to his knees (pun intended). What’s that saying about Karma?

4. Stephen Bennett.
A “former” fag, Bennett has “converted” and is now completely “hetero.” He and his “wife,” Irene, take to the airwaves every day and bitch about the homosexual agenda. ‘nuff said.

3. George W. Bush. What can we say about the man that hasn’t been said a million times before? Our own leader continues to fight for what he refers to as “traditional marriage.” Bush recently helped raise half a million bucks for Republican Marilyn “every day is a bad hair day” Musgrave the very woman who authored the failed gay marriage ban amendment. We just pray that one of the twins turns out to be a dyke.

2. Lech Kaczynski. Believe it or not, Poland elected a more homophobic leader this year than our own Dubya. Kaczynski’s very vocal homophobia and his recent banning of pride marches are pissing off the rest of the European Union. Oh, and he has a twin brother (also a politician) who hates The Gays just as much.

Who was biggest baddie of 2005? Find out after the jump.

• A group of uppity parents have their chastity belts in a bunch over a Rhode Island high school's field trip to see Rent because it "promotes homosexuality." Hey, West Side Story promotes heterosexuality (sort of) and you don't see us complaining.

Stephen Bennett and his beard, er, wife, Irene, are at it again. She says she would give Brokeback Mountain “a 'thumbs down' for its message. Second, I give it an Oscar for the number one homosexual propaganda movie of the year." No word on which award she gave her hair. (Via Good As You)

• We spotted Bruce Vilanch (with some older guy) at the Grove this morning. No doubt he was on his way to check out Brokeback Mountain at the only LA-area theater you can catch the movie.

• Of all people, San Francisco cops are in trouble for recording videos that poke fun at African-Americans, women, and even trannies.

• Four Bulgarian athletes have been booted off their soccer team for participating in an orgy in the team's locker room, dispelling all doubt that Bel Ami videos are unrealistic.

GE has a new print ad featuring a gay male couple for their high-end monogram line. Seeing as though we're the ones who either buy them or are responsible for putting them in chic kitchens, we think it couldn't be better. GE...You really do bring good things to life.

20051027_straighttalk.jpg

Ex-gay Stephen Bennett will be putting a long hard mic up to his lips every day for a radio talk show on our favorite topic: our homosexual selves.

The currently hetero Bennett and his wife Irene (who was "never involved in homosexuality" and who he himself describes as "prissy and elegant." hmmm) will take to the Christian airwaves preaching about that ghastly homosexual agenda. Their radio show will be heard in the mid-west (beginning appropriately enough on Halloween) and available to stream over the Internet. The rousing back-story on the loving couple:

Stephen Bennett is a former homosexual who abandoned his 11-year promiscuous homosexual lifestyle, along with a long term homosexual relationship, after becoming a Christian in 1992...Fully knowing Stephen's past, Irene accepted Stephen's proposal for marriage in 1993 without any reservations.

Ahh, young ex-gay Christian love. But we like the way Mr. And Mrs. Bennett tell it:

She's the woman that stole his heart. He's the former homosexual man. Now married and on a mission...they're out to set the record straight.

Throw in Megan Mullally and a Chelsea coffee shop setting and you've got yourself one wacky WB sit-com.

We have an inkling Irene and Liza Minelli might be getting together over cosmos one day to commiserate over their husbands once Bennett, you know, falls off the wagon.

Oh and the show's title? Straight Talk, of course! He's named it after a Dolly Parton song! This ex-gay may have still have some queer in him after all.
