Hundreds of Sacramento-area students rallied to support four students suspended for wearing anti-gay shirts. One participant said: "It's only going to get worse against Christians. We're going to get persecuted more and more. But those who stand to the end: God is going to save them." Um, right...

There Are Totally Bigger Problems.

stonerRobinsonb.jpg
It seems a day doesn't pass without another article on the seemingly imminent breakdown of the worldwide Anglican Church, a distintegration exasperated by the American Episcopal Church's own infighting. Well, you know what, man-loving Archbishop Gene Robinson's had enough.

Speaking in Hartford on Monday, Robinson said the media (that's us) should stop blowing things out of proportion. He also took some time to admonish the bickering Bible thumpers, saying:

In a world facing 40 million people dying of AIDS and an increasing gap between rich and poor, this seems like a waste of our time and energy, debating the rightness and wrongness of gay and lesbian people and their relationships... I think it breaks God's heart that we would be focusing on such an internal issue, instead of focusing upon the world which, as I understand it, Jesus called us to...
Robinson left for the Sundance directly after the speech, saying, "Hey, the world includes celebrity-saturated film festivals, bitches!"

Robinson's in Sundance to help promote For The Bible Tells Me So: the Grand Jury nominated documentary in which he and four other gay Christians appear And, by the looks of this picture, he'll be scoring some wicked Andrew Sullivan and cruising the slopes. Sweet.

Pictures Prove Judith Light, Tara Reid Diametrically Opposed

outfestH.jpg
This here's a picture from the Outfest-endorsed Sundance premiere of Save Me, the Robert Cary directed conversion therapy drama starring Chad Allen, Judith Light and Queer as Folk's Robert Gant.

We've posted some other pictures after the jump. Before you click through, however, let it be known that we heart Judith Light like whoa. Seriously, these pictures prove that she's the ultimate fag hag. Meanwhile, Tara Reid's hit a new career low...

Both Parties Live To Tell About It

jbakker2.jpg
We have to admit, we haven't been keeping up with Sundance Channel's One Punk Under God, the reality series that follows upstart preacher Jay Bakker. It seems, however, that our old friend Jack E. Jett's been tuning in - or, at least has some interest: he recently sat down with Mr. Bakker for a bit of a chat. Despite our past needling, Jett offered said chat to us. Sure, he says it's a friendly gesture, but we've got a sneaking suspicion he got turned down elsewhere. Oh well.

Anyway, see what the boys had to say, after the jump. In case you're wondering, yes, we did edit it a bit. Don't worry, we didn't snip any naughty bits, just how Jack loves Bakker's wife and how Bakker's sister has been tending to his mother, Tammy Faye. As you may or may not know, she's been very ill. Bakker appreciates all your good wishes for the great mascared one.

(PS: Jett wants you to know that the episode of Queer Edge featuring Sandra Bernhard can now be seen over at World of Wonder. Ch-ch-check it out.)

Perhaps you've seen Ernest and Bertram. But most likely you haven't. Taking a trip down memory lane, this short film debuted at 2002 Sundance Film Festival to great acclaim — before Sesame Workshop issued a cease and desist. Director Peter Spears submitted and promptly pulled it from distribution. And then along came YouTube.

Quinceañera Directors

Yeah, yeah. We know this is the year of gay film. But 2006 looks like it’s shaping up to be the year of gay porn going mainstream. Gay Porn Blog is reporting that the big winner of this year’s Sundance festival is Quinceañera, a film directed by porn auteur Wash West. West is famous for directing porn films like Animus and The Hole. He also wrote The Fluffer. The film is co-written and directed by Richard Glatzer, pictured with Wash in the photo above.

His new film has snagged the dramatic jury grand prize and the audience award. Enough with the cowboys, we can’t wait to see Quinceañera.
