Hundreds of Sacramento-area students rallied to support four students suspended for wearing anti-gay shirts. One participant said: "It's only going to get worse against Christians. We're going to get persecuted more and more. But those who stand to the end: God is going to save them." Um, right...

Sony's banking on Spider Man 3. Literally. Some insiders claim the flick cost $300 million to produce. No doubt, however, it'll make it back. And then some.

The International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission will honor Nepal's Blue Diamond Society for all their hard activist work. Unfortunately, they will not be honored with actual blue diamonds.

We've never quite understood Kate Moss and Pete Doherty's relationship. Now we do. And they're kind of cute. Still total nutters, but cute...

Maryland's House has passed a bill requiring health insurance companies to extend benefits to same-sex partners and children. The bill now needs to be signed by the governor to become a law. (We totally just had a School House Rock flashback.)

Sri Lanka may forbid homosexuality, but that's not stopping gay activists from planning a pride event. Trouble is, they don't have any money. Do you?

Robbie Williams may have ditched Take That! to embrace his bad boy image, but some are saying the recently rehabbed singer's mulling a musical reunion. Um, is that supposed to be a career booster or a death rattle?

21-year old Akino George has been sentenced to eight years in prison for his role in the beating of gay singer, Kevin Aviance. Like his violent cohorts, George copped a plea. Smart fucker...

Warhol
Wed, Sep 28, 2005

•Finally. Kate Bush releases her new single on iTunes. It only took, what, ten years.

Holly Woodlawn

•The incomparable Holly Woodlawn, Warhol muse and pioneering trannie, is playing one night only in NYC next Tuesday. Expect a who’s who of the downtown scene to be in attendance.

•Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Pittsburgh, Ft. Lauderdale, Seattle, Portland, Los Angeles, and San Francisco are in for a treat! Kiki and Herb are reunited and touring the US. Dare we say Justin Bond is the best drag performer alive? Thanks Aaron.

•Any friend of Matty is a friend of ours. That is why we are totally going to see the self-proclaimed “gay comic hottie” Adam Sank. He is performing this Saturday and Sunday in NYC. Wonder if he is better than our fave fag comic, Jimmy Fallon. Oh wait. He’s straight.

F.A.G in a bag? It is grooming products. Not cocaine.

Angry Smurf

One trend we touch upon often at Queerty is the urban toy trend. And if one is into urban toys then one must go to Kid Robot. They have shops in New York, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.

Kid Robot sells toys. But not the toys you think. These are limited edition, pieces of art. Kid Robot puts it this way:

“The Urban Toy scene was born in 1997 when designer Michael Lau showed up at a Hong Kong toy show with a handful of GI-Joes he’d customized into hip-hop street fashion figures. Things exploded from there, and artists from Hong Kong and Japan began making their own limited toys, mostly in rotocast vinyl. Many of these toys are still made for small retail stores in Asia. Each shop has its own particular artist that they support, and competition can be vicious. Kid Robot carries toys produced by most of these stores in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Japan.”

And we cannot get enough. Our favorites are the Visionaire series designed by Gucci, Martin Margiela, and Valentino amongst others. We also adore the Warhol kubrick, the Marc Jacobs Scullhead, and the Angry Smurf. Toys aren’t just for kids anymore.

Cow Hoodie

Andy Warhol once said "I am a deeply superficial person." It makes perfect sense then that he is our favorite artist. We are deeply superficial too. Especially when it comes to clothes.

Warhol loved fashion. And he would have loved Paul Frank. Everybody's favorite monkey man has recently launched the line Paul Frank for Andy Warhol and we are loving it. Much like the Warhol inspired Philip Treacy high-end hat line and the soon to launch Levi's Warhol collection, Paul Frank has delivered a knock-out mix of affordable clothing that are 100% pop. Anyone can afford a Warhol now. We recommend the $58 cow hoodie (that Bradford was rocking in the Heatherette pictures) or the black and white striped polo featuring Warhol himself. The line is available at Paul Frank boutiques and Urban Outfitters and is selling out quickly. Seems like everyone wants their 15 minutes wearing a Warhol. Thanks Donald.

Juanita More

Andy Warhol loved drag queens. Remember Candy Darling, Holly Woodlawn, Jackie Curtis? Mr. Warhol would have most likely loved Juanita More. Miss More is the Scissor Sister's muse who lives in San Francisco. She runs through the city with a pack of hot, half-naked boys called the Moreboys: think street gang with way too much eye-liner.

In an homage to Andy, Miss More has created a limited edition silk screen poster (only 20 made) of herself morphed into Liz Taylor. David LaChapelle did a similar style with Amanda Lepore a few years back. Juanita's poster would be great for any home. It is a work of art with a twist of kitsch and a ridiculous subject matter. Much like her t-shirt lines, these posters will be sure to sell out. Queens just keep wanting More!
