On the one hand, we support any product proud enough to be pink. On the other hand, our classy mother taught us to shun pink wine. It became part of our identity crisis.

The Rule: Avoid White Zinfandel without exception; embrace Rosé. Last month, your favorite brand of bubbly, Veuve Cliquot, launched its new Non Vintage Rosé Champagne at an amazing Parisian party. (You can pretend like you prefer more esoteric brands, but I’ve seen the Yellow Label in your kitchen).

Aromas of wild strawberries, tastes of red fruit, and crisp bubbles make this unique rosé a fine spring and summer cocktail. And, the pale pink packaging is a subtle compliment to the Champagne’s brilliant
mother-of-pearl color. Plus, bottle is a wonderful accessory as you enter that fabulous Memorial Day party.

Beyond the basic caviar, prosciutto and goat milk cheeses (three things not stocked in my Manhattan studio), the Veuve Rosé is a wonderful compliment to most white meats, including chicken, duck, veal, pork, and even California Rolls. The Plastics only wear pink on Wednesday, but this Rosé will be great any night of the week!
