Queerty ReBUTTal: Special Edition

Why is it that the short weeks feel so long? We don’t know. We do know, however, that today’s (blessedly) Friday. Do you know what that means? That’s right – it’s Queerty ReBUTTal time! Yay!

Earlier this week, lesbian talk show host Ellen Degeneres hosted presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. While it’s incredible enough that we have an out lady lover hosting a popular television show, it’s even more astonishing that a powerful politician such as Clinton would volunteer to appear. It wasn’t too long ago that gay people were only depicted as sex-crazed maniacs or severely disturbed villains. How things have changed!

One of the major developments came in 1977, when Billy Crystal played Jody Campbell on Soap. In honor of all the strides we’ve made, we’re dedicating this ReBUTTal to Soap. Check out some scenes, after the jump.

It’s worth noting that we asked Crystal for an interview, but his flacks declined. Shame…

actually it’s Ellen vs. The Daily Show.

Jon Stewart and Ellen are facing off, each with their own candidate. Jon and Obama, Ellen and Hillary.

Neither Hillary nor Obama, if you didn’t know, are for same-sex marriage equality.

Hetero marriage only is quite important. “For the children.” Same-sex parents, you know, will turn your boy into a hairdresser and make your little girl drive a Deere tractor.

Professor VP you always have the best insights….

Shillary and Obamie do not support same sex marriage…and both were more then a bit wobbly on Gays in the military and had to re clarify their comments when asked about Pete Pace’s comments on Gays in the military….

with Shillary and Obamie’s so called support of the GLBT community we still have the tire tracks all over us from them throwing us under the bus and keep running us over….

In the 2008 elections gays and lesbians are will again being set up to be well and truly fucked. (Like most Americans.) Hillary Clintons lead in the polls is a bone-crushing 40% and steadily rising. She’ll undoubtedly be the Deceitful Party’s candidate and duke it out with Freddie T. or Rudy G. from the Repugnant Party next fall.

As Elmer used to say, “Be afwaid, be vewy afwaid.” Snake oil purveyors like HRC, the stoneheads and the logheads will be bawling, as usual, that ‘it’s a crucial election’ and that we have to choose. But how do we choose between the rock and the hard place?

Hillary Clinton actively supports prolonging and expanding Bush’s unlawful oil piracy in Iraq and his strategy (nearing execution) to use nukes against Iran. She opposes same sex marriage and full equality, supporting cosmetic reforms like a halfhearted EDNA or repeal of parts of Big Daddy Bills DADT and DOMA. She’s a union buster, opposed to fair treatment for immigrant workers, against socialized medicine, and etc.

Clinton’s exceedingly faint-hearted reform agenda is a cover for her active collusion with the Repugnant Party, like all Deceitful Party politicians.

In other words, she’s Bush Lite. Voting for her and the Deceitful Party is voting for the war, bigotry and the decline the standard of living of working people. The Repugnants have the same program, but are honest about it.

A vote for the Deceitfuls or the Repugnants is a squandered vote. Instead vote for socialist or communist parties, anticapitalist greens, or join and build the trade union led US Labor Party.
There is no middle ground here.
