Gay Politician Not Pleased With Homophobic Statements
Homo-politico Christine Quinn visited Ireland recently and took some time to blast Ian Paisley, Jr: the MP who said he's repulsed by gays. Says Quinn:
Statements like that shouldn't be made. They are totally unhelpful and hurtful to people. It shouldn't have been said.Sometimes when people say things like that they don't realize the impact. Lots of people are affected, the people at the center of the remarks, their family, their friends.
Comments like that are personal and very painful.
Yes, even more painful than calling pigeons "flying rats".

With a name like Ian Paisley HE'S the one repulsed?
Ian Paisley is notorious as an antigay anti-Irish bigot. His whole family gets in on the act. His son supports attacks on GLBT folk, and both are leaders of the pro-colonialist DUP Party, whose paramilitary death squads were infamous for murdering the Irish in the English occupied north.
The proud mother and wife, Baroness Paisley is planted in the English House of Antiquities (Lords) where she sows gaybashing hatred. On the subject of assisted reproduction to enable GLBT couples to have children she said it “threatens not only human dignity but the family" and "totally disregards the biblical law on mixing species as laid down in Holy Scripture, and would be an offence to the Creator Himself who made man in His own image.” Like most deeply superstitious people, her mind sometimes wander across the borders of sanity.
The Paisley's antigay and anti-Irish activities will be ended when the English finally leave Ireland. Sinn Fein, the pro-GLBT Irish nationalist party is leading a fight to depose the Paisleyite DUP government
