Rich points out the double standard afforded Republicans: because they have embraced racist tactics to win votes for 40 years, the media and others have become complacent with their bigotry. Thus, seeing Republican bigotry fazes them not.
Look at Pat Buchanan and Ann Coulter. Those two can say the worst racist, anti-Semitic, and homophobic things but are always invited back to join the talking heads on TV.
All of this translates into the tacit approval of bigotry. CNN, MSNBC, ABC, and Fox News encourage this by hiring people like Beck, Buchanan, Will, and Gibson to spout racist, homophobic, and other hateful crap.
Everyone expects the Rethuglicans to be racsist pigs. The Wright thing is WAY over played. We Catholics go to the same church for 30 years – that doesn't mean we condone our priests diddling little boys.
Fox News is a prime offender, by having shows like "Hannity and Colmes" and "The O'Reilly Factor" smearing Barack Obama's name due to his association with Jeremiah Wright, while saying nothing of John Mccain's association with Pastor Hagee, but the difference is that what Jeremiah Wright says is viewed as more anti-american.

On another station, they gave Obama a chance to describe that Wright had never carried on like he is now. Even the older black gentleman who I was visting was embarrassed by Wright. to the point of speahlessness.
Somebody has to have crookedly influenced Wright. The fact is that Barak is really a straight shooter and this is just beyond his avbility to respond too. Anyone can see that Wright is acting like a total nutcase, whho is either mad or acting that way on puropose.
That should be how Barak can respond: just say that he is either being influenced by Clinton and /or Republicans to act that way or he has totally flipped his lid. I think that intelligent Black people are just embarrassed.
The republicans would benefit from Clinton winning because she is not the threat to there program that Barack is.
