Anti-gay Evangelist Doug Sehorne expected to get some great reviews when he self-published a book about fundamentalist parenting on Amazon this month. Instead, he was inundated with positive user reviews on the “hilarious” book cover.
That’s because his book, Bible Principles of Child Discipline from the Book of Proverbs, featured a family that probably wouldn’t agree with a word inside it: The Dunphys from ABC’s Modern Family.
Aside from suggesting that a random image from Google is acceptable cover art, the book also claims “you cannot raise the kids without a paddle.”
Once Sehorne figured out his poster family was actually “wicked” and had ties to another “gay couple,” he immediately removed the listing from Amazon and logged onto Rentboy posted this on his Facebook page:

If you’re interested in “fresh Biblical insight on how to discipline children properly and teach them charater [sic],” Sehorne expects an updated copy to be available soon with a more appropriate cover image.

It will have a more acceptable cover image such as what? A paddle with Christ’s image? an Inquisitorial rack? This man is obviously so far out of touch with the reality of the 21st century that his book is not relevant.

Thou shalt not steal copyrighted images. If you are publishing a ‘book’, you should know the difference. Stock images are cheap if you are looking for a family, but you’d rather just steal.
I hope the owners smack you with a copyright lawsuit for defaming the good name of their show.

Well, I think this should give everyone a hint into the “research” this guy does. Really, if you don’t know who is featured in one of the most popular television shows currently, then it’s a safe bet you’re out of touch with reality in general. I don’t have a problem with not watching tv. I DO have a problem with just being generally stupid on purpose.

@Larkin: Great point. I always have to laugh when I see a “praying Calvin” (from Calvin and Hobbes) window sticker on some religious nutjob’s car, as if Jesus would condone copyright infringement. If they only knew the political beliefs of Bill Watterson, they would be out there with a razor blade in no time.

These three items do not add up. How could he say he has never had a TV set for 35 years, never even heard of the show and yet is using a modern computer and most likely used that same computer to write the book in the first place. These self-righteous ignoramuses are real piece of work.
