Rep. Andrews on ENDA Disintegration

Representative Rob Andrews of New Jersey should have led the Senate Subcommittee hearing on ENDA today. As we all know, however, that vote’s been postponed until politicos can lobby their peers to include trans in the discrimination protection measure. In an effort to get some answers, Blue Jersey sat down with Andrews with a little chat.

While Speaker Nancy Pelosi said the committee wants to wait up to two weeks before voting on the issue, Andrew says it could happen sooner. They just need to win 70-80 votes to support trans rights.

“Get what we can when we can” does not include all of the loopholes in the new version that still allow discrimination in employment. So with all due respect Rep. Andrews, you are wrong and it does not surprise me that you didn’t mention THOSE issues with the bill. Must be election season.. pass something, anything just to say you did and get them votes, eh?

“A person who is biologically male who ‘choses’ to present himself as a female”??!? WTF… who educated this guy? Sounds like he’s reading straight from the Far-religious-right play book! It’s profound that this guy is truly this ignorant.
