Chinese people only become seriously opposed to homosexuality once Xtianity is involved.
Interesting piece… as of yet, only seen on Queerty.

Some of this has been known for a while. I’ve seen the “sleeve-slicing affection” also referred to as “the love of the cut sleeve.”

There is plenty of Christian artwork and writings prior to about ~1300 AD that also depicts homosexuality as being the same as heterosexuality. But of course the church doesn’t want you to know about any of it and tries to pretend it doesn’t exist. Kinda like gay priests.

yes, it’s a well known feature of ancient aristocratic societies such as China, Japan, ancient Greeks etc. unfortunately it also goes alongside extreme forms of patriarchy, gender separation, and misogyny.
but hey, what a small price to pay for a big sexy armour-clad warrior swinging a big weapon. grrrrrr.
·
@CaptainFabulous: Quit it with the Christian apologetics. The Jebus cult was the worst thing that ever happened to gays

A close friend of mine gave me an antique ivory carving of two Chinese men locked in a 69. He is an older Chinese man and it was his way of letting me know he was gay.
