Rhode Island Pride: Lion King Edition

Sadly, this is the only video evidence we have of Rhode Island gay pride. Surely some of you out there have better, more flattering footage?

Yeah, that's about right. I didn't go this year, but in the part RI's pride feels more like you're stuck somewhere in the midwest with you two gay friends, butch Anne and too-gay Steve. It's a blast, in other words. Or not really.

Hey, don't knock on Rhody.

15,000 people attended the 30th anniversary of Rhode Island Pride, which included its largest night parade ever. Honestly, outside of Boston and P-Town, Providence has one of New England's largest and most active gay communities - and it's the largest city in the US with an openly gay mayor. Maybe the daytime stage with the Lion King dancer wasn't much to look at, but downtown Providence was packed with people for New England's second-largest Pride event (only Boston's is bigger).
