Robertson Backlash Begins

pat_robertson-1.jpg
Pundits have been pondering what will become of Pat Robertson now that he’s endorsed abortion-allowing, gay loving Rudy Giuliani.

They got at least part of answer today after anti-abortion activist and Operation Rescue founder Randall Terry took aim at Robertson – among others.

Note his clever take on NYC’s current mayor, Michael Bloomberg.

Says Terry:

If Rudy Giuliani was [sic] a Democrat, Pat Robertson might denounce him as Satan Himself – or at least Mayor Beelzebronx – Lord of the N.Y. Flies. Rudy would be the poster boy of CBN attack ads and fundraising appeals.

Rudy has perfect credentials on social issues like child-killing, partial birth abortion, federal funding for “poor women” to have abortions, and so-called homosexual marriage or civil unions. Add to that his unblemished betrayal of the Second Amendment, and he would be a stellar Democratic candidate – with the ethical stature of Al Sharpton, Al Gore, and Hillary Clinton herself.

Rudy’s treachery to the Catholic Church makes John Kerry look like a choir-boy. During his tenure as mayor Rudy revoked the permit of the Ancient Order of Hibernians for their annual St. Patrick’s Day parade. (The Hibernian’s are a faithful Catholic Fraternity.) Why? They would not allow homosexual floats to participate in a Catholic Christian parade. The Catholics had to go to Federal Court to get their parade permit back. This is who Pat Robertson is backing.

Terry’s so pissed off, he even suggests that Hillary Clinton’s preferable to Giuliani. As you can see, Robertson’s Giuliani support turned the world upside down. “In the eyes of the Angels, we may find that Hillary’s pure evil is far less putrid and damnable than the hypocritical and seductive evil of Rudy’s caliber.” A social conservative tacitly supporting a Clinton? Crazy!

We sooooo want to believe that at least your second reference of the day to Giuliani as “gay-loving” is tongue-in-cheeck. But as too many gays and virtually all mainstream media believes he actually is, I repeat:

Giuliani supports Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.

Giuliani attacked New Hampshire for enacting a civil union law for same-sex couples because it “goes too far” and is “the equivalent of marriage.”

Giuliani recently said he would support raping the U.S. Constitution by amending it to ban gay marriage equality if “too many ‘activist judges’” ruled positively on it.

Giuliani signed a domestic partners law for NYC that excluded “any requirement for recognizing gay and lesbian couples in collective bargaining agreements.”

Giuliani opposed any requirement that companies with New York City contracts provide domestic partner benefits on par with the spousal rights they confer, as San Francisco has.

Giuliani, in 1989 as candidate for Mayor, criticized Mayor Koch’s plan to offer bereavement leave to gay city employees, calling it (through a spokesperson) “an ill-conceived political giveaway.”

Giuliani, in 1993, opposed Mayor Dinkins’ ban on travel by city employees to Colorado, imposed because of a boycott to the state’s antigay ballot initiative.

Giuliani supported Ruben Diaz, who sat on the Police Department’s Civilian Complaint Review Board, who wrote a homophobic and AIDS-phobic column about the upcoming Gay Games being held in the city. Giuliani was quoted as saying, “I don’t condemn him” and said Diaz’s views reflected “a couple of thousand years of moral theology.”

Giuliani eliminated the mayor’s Office of Lesbian and Gay Concerns.

Giuliani opposed the inclusion of lesbians and gay in multicultural public schools curriculum.

Giuliani appointed openly homophobic Irene Impellizzeri to the Board of Education and appointed AIDS-phobic board member Ninfa Segarra as Deputy Mayor.

Giuliani defended the [police] use of force to control demonstrators marching in honor of slain Matthew Shepard.

Our opponents are fighting one another. Whether they are doing it for rational or irrational reasons is not important. For once, let’s sit still silently and let our opponents fight amongst themselves.

I agree with Marc. Let us hope they eat each other like mindless flesh-eating zombies in a horror movie. It would fit well with the last seven years of near apocalypse.

I suspect that Rudy will run commercials showing the late Milton Berle dressed in drag showing how supraheterosexuals had no problem dressing in drag on Broadway or in Hollywood.

Pat Robertson has no problem with his support of a man with no moral core or centre. Neither does he, so they understand each other’s political needs. They will blackmail each other and that is how they will proceed throughout the election.

I rather see that the right wing has played a wild card and found that a house divided against itself creates chaos. The GL or LG – B Next and T Gone alliance, and their agenda.

Der Gubernator, Schwarzenegger, the guy who wines and dines Austrian neo-Nazis, was Robertson’s first pick but he can’t run for President. It has to do with a constitutional provision about foreign nationals or foreign Nazis or something like that.

So Robertson had to pick one of his two favorites, Rudy Giuliani or Hillary Clinton, about whom he said “Well she’s– tacking to the right as hard as she can tack. And– you know Hillary’s got some good points.”

Maybe Robertson, in his confusion and dotage, just flipped a coin.

Clinton has moved so far to the right that she’s supported by, and supports, Rupert Murdoch, who was once a member of the ‘vast right wing conspiracy’ out to get her. Now they’re bosom buddies. Go figure.

One of the Clinton ‘good points’ Robertson was happy about was illustrated when her mentor Bill Clinton appointed homobigot Democrat Judge Karen Nelson Moore to the bench. Judge Moored joined a Bush appointee in the U.S. 6th Circuit Court of Appeals which recently endorsed gaybashing in Kentucky schools. He appointed her just before he campaigned for and signed the bigot law DOMA and not too long after he signed the bigot law DADT.

Dianne Feinstein and a dozen or so Democrats recently joined with their Republican cousins in putting racist and gaybasher Mississippian Judge Southwick to the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in the Democrat controlled Senate by a vote of 59-38. Even more Democrats voted with their bipartisan Republican cousins to put a gay basher in as Attorney General.

The idea of waiting for the judiciary to ‘grant’ us equality is as practical as the ‘theory’ of lesser evils. That is to say, not very.

Only real dummies would pretend that the differences between Giuliani and Clinton are more than cosmetic.

With Democrats like these who needs Republicans.

Bush/Clinton/Bush/Clinton = the fix is on.

A Republican politician is a baboon in a people suit with a totalitarian christian attached at the hip. A Democratic politician is a Republican in drag.

Comrade Bill, Comrade Bill, Comrade Bill! Once again in taking a thread about Giuliani and turning it into your echolalic attack on Big Bad Hillary and any & all Dems reveals your pathetic naked obsession with hating them first and searching high and low–oh sooo low—for anything to try to justify it later. That’s the Stalinist way you want to bring to America: verdict first then the “evidence.”

Time to up your meds. I suggest Haldol several times a day. Maybe in suppository form?

.Frances’ pretended shock that honest GLBT activists could have the gall to actually criticize Hillary Clinton is just for effect. He knows she’s a right-winger just like he is. He knows that if you Google Pat Robertson or Rupert Murdoch and Hillary Clinton you’ll find a dozen major news media stories about theirs sordid mutual admiration society.

He knows that she’s the handmaiden of DOMA, DADT, and NAFTA and that her insurance-industry sponsored heath care treachery will hurt millions who desperately need socialized single-payer medicine. He know that like Giuliani she totally supports the war in Iraq, wants to extend it to Iran, and wants to steal Iraq’s oil resources for American companies.

Get used to it Frances, we aren’t going anywhere and we’ll still be here long after you finally settle into your log cabin.

Is you brain so curdled that you can’t come up with your own lines. “I suggest Haldol several times a day. Maybe in suppository form.” I used that line to poke a hole in your self-important pomposity over a month ago.

As usual Frances ignores the politics and concentrates on what he, like J. Edgar Hoover and other paytriotic chumps think passes for a scare tactic. At least he’s dropped, for a while, his gay bashing use of the term ”mad tranny disease.” We don’t need anyone getting despondent because they read that sort of garbage.

Has anyone else noticed that Pat Robertson always has a pained expression of acute constipation on his face when he prays. He’s supposed to be talking to God, not squeezing one out.
Sorry, I know that’s off topic.
On topic: I agree with Marc. Let them run in all directions and waste their power. I just hope that they stay this divided.

Pat Robertson’s father was a US senator from VA in the days that Dixiecrat racists were in the Democratic party. Their conversion, of course, was when they ran to create the new Republican Party of the South when the blacks vacated to join the Democratic party.

Robertson started CBN and ran for the GOP Presidential nomination and therefore created the neocon/theocon GOP alliance. There were others like Falwell and in recent decades, Dobson, who have prominence over the “Mephis Elmer Gantry” but no one else understands Washington DC politics like that individual. Don’t count out the man’s influence or his strategies, to your peril.

Sorry to have to interrupt your perpetual effort to go down on yourself, Comrade Perdue [you must have one hell of a stiff neck and back], and disappoint you but I actually don’t make a career out of looking for all your watery ejaculations. It would be embarrassing having to explain why I always carried a wet mop.

It’s repulsive enough having to step into your warm spit as often as I do. But I feel a responsibility to those too young to recognize the rotten meat smell of pseudo socialist shills like you. Gay Black civil rights icon Bayard Rustin finally recognized the smell when the international Communist movement abandoned the fight for justice for the Scottsburo Boys during WWII because they didn’t really care about them anymore than you really care about LGBT rights or civil rights generally [anathema to you and other Stalinists by definition] or health care or the environment, and certainly not democracy.

Anyone objective that claims to be as familiar with all I’ve written as you have would never honestly equate me with the Log Cabin Republicans because they have often been the target of my loathing themselves and what Log Head would repeatedly write that any Dem candidate at his/her worst is better than any Repug candidate at his best.

The fact that you, on the other hand, so often repeatedly and repeatedly and repeatedly drool that Dems = Repugs that I’m surprised a rainbow hasn’t formed around your mouth is pure tinpot socialist divide and conquer nonsense. You actually are identical in concept to the Log Heads. They put money and privilege above their and their people’s civil liberties and you put socialism above anything else.

The difference is that you, in typical socialist workers party line, don’t discriminate in whom or what cause you attach your parasitic self to. Unlike those you’ve been sucking blood from the last few weeks you don’t really have Mad Tranny Disease. However momentarily distorting their thinking and sense of tactical fairness at least they have been fighting for something they believe is right while you have been merely attempting to exploit it and them as another wedge to drive between voters and democracy. And that makes you like a Republican, gay Log Headed or not.

You present the illusion of the “US Labor Party” as a loving and viable alternative to the much-flawed Democrats even tho last time I looked they don’t even have a candidate for President. Shall we attempt to write in “Bill Perdue”?

Students of history, particularly those with functioning olfactory senses, recognize the path you promote to real freedom as nothing more than a trap door.
