Rosie O’Donnell may be returning to television. NY Times reports that the former View cohost has been chatting with MSNBC to take over their 9pm time slot, thus vanquishing Dan Abrams to the networks nether regions:
[O’Donnell] is in serious discussions to return to television atop a new soapbox: a prime-time show on the cable news channel MSNBC, according to executives on both sides of the negotiations who have been briefed directly.
Under one scenario, Ms. O’Donnell would be given the 9 p.m. slot each weeknight on MSNBC, where she would go head-to-head with two heavyweights of cable talk: Larry King Live on CNN and Hannity & Colmes on Fox News. Her show would replace Live with Dan Abrams, a relatively low-rated program that only recently replaced Scarborough Country, which was also little-watched.
The talks are far from over, say other sources. Apparently Rosie and network executives are butting heads over – you guessed it – money.

As a big MSNBC fan, I would love this! Dan Abrams show brings our viewing on MSNBC to a screeching halt. He is as dull as watching paint dry coming on after the dynamic Keith Olberman Show.

With Olberman as a lead in, Rosie could build an audience quickly. I switch channels soon after Olberman signs off. I switch even faster the moment I hear Pat Buchanan’s name mentioned as a guest. Why, oh why does MSNBC have that Neo-Nazi on the payroll? But I digress. If Rosie gets a slot, I’ll give her a fair chance.

I’d definitly tune in to Rosie. Like the idea.

This is the greatest thing that I have ever heard. Rosie Rules! I love her. I hope Dan Abrams still has a show somewhere, cuz he’s all hot.
