Run For Your Lives!

Some not-so-deep thoughts from a Malaysian citizen worried about the rise of gay bars in his homeland: “In the West, the morally wrong and corrupt homosexual act has turned into a sort of plague, spreading its tentacles far and wide, engulfing individuals with the tendency of adopting this immoral self-indulgence.” God, we had no idea we gays were so monstrous! If you live in a society that preaches homophobia, then it’s to be expected comments like this.

LMAO!

“Clutches”? Did he actually say “clutches”? What are we, comic book super-villans?

Lots of “authorities” were cited in this article. Can anyone familiar with Malaysia tell us about them? Are they just some old windbags, or do they actually have the power to inflict their twisted vision on the rest of the country?

it’s sad really….and I was almost moved to tears. The bodies cited in the article are legal organisations that on their own, they may not have much say or power BUT they are able to influence those who are in a position to do something. There is a lot of hypocrisy going on in the country and although a lot of what has been said has no basis or foundation, trying to change the mindset of a nation who will not see any other way apart from their own, is futile. What i don’t understand is, though the gay scene and community is flourishing, it has so far managed to remain out of trouble with the authorities…as in, we’re not (technically) violating any laws, so why don’t you just leave us the hell alone? sometimes it could be true to say that some parties are just looking for a reason or aggravating that which has so far remained dormant and out of trouble. Malaysia is also a country with a lot of talk and little action which can work to the benefit of the gay community. But still….as a gay man myself, it’s really sad to see so much hate for something the bearer of the article does not even fully understand. Adopt me, someone..? heh heh
