Running Away From Pastor Ssempa-Supporting Canyon Ridge Christian Church

The Canyon Ridge Christian Church in Las Vegas, which has a HIV prevention program, is defending its own defense of Uganda pastor Martin “Eat Da Poo Poo” Ssempa. Refusing to step away from the African terrorist, the church was just cut off from its relationships with the Southern Nevada Health District, which, logically, finds an organization that backs a man who wants to criminalize HIV-positive gay people is not a good enough partner for its efforts to fight HIV.

Three very loud cheers for South Nevada Health District.

The Health District has been very understanding of the local LGBT community’s objection to the relationship between tax payer dollars and this man. I must praise them along with Warren Throckmorton who brought this to everyone attention, Jason Whited who wrote an expose on this for local alternative weekly City Life and the Nevada LGBT Statewide Coalition who worked together to make this happen. Now, we need to see the church step completely away from this man.

I have received quite a few emails and Facebook messages telling me that the parishioners had no idea and the church is being roiled by this issue. I hope that they will change the Pastors mind,or, replace him if he doesn’t step away from Ssempa.
