Running Scared, Or Energized?

“…An Obama aide told the Huffington Post that the campaign has raised $8 million since [Sarah Palin's] speech last night “from over 130,000 donors – on pace to hit $10 million by the time John McCain hits the stage tonight.” [HuffPo]

A little of both, I suspect. This time, Dems need to work hard to counter the barrage of republican snark before Obama finds himself Kerry-ized.

Running scared from what? Have the Republicans said anything of substance in the last week? This is unbelieveable! A vacuous, cultural wingnut parachutes in and all of sudden Dems are talking about defeat. The only thing she is good at is smiling for the camera and making snide comments….we already had that with Cheney (although he snarled at the camera).

Enough!

Dems are most certainly not running scared. Sarah Palin is nothing – she’s energising the gay hating, abortion ignorant, gun toting base of the Republicans but she’s also energised the Democratic base. Once the whole Palin shock has faded, people will see that she is just another Bush minion and is bad, bad news for the US.

The Republican convention has been pathetic, too. Their message is fear and division, meted out by farcical speakers through snark and sarcasm. It’s awful compared to the DNC in Denver.

Not running scared but a GREAT wake up call. we don’t want another fucking redneck in the Whitehouse. Enough is enough of this Nascar loving, tobacco chewing, gun swinging, bible thumping, gay hating, yankee doodle dandy shit y’all!

It reminded me to log in and make that donation I had been putting off because I was working on other things. SHE reminds me of why I fight so hard for EQUALITY at work, at my blog, with my money.

#6 Stop commenting about others!

Churchill-y – We all know that you would not vote for a black person ever (but you live in Mass. Ha-Ha) Governor Deval rocks!

David, Wicked-whatever – Upon reading your post, it seemed phoned in. Nothing you said was original so you should think about using someone else’s money before you go broke.

CitizenGeek – Fear and division won them (the GOP) 2 election cycles at the end of a Good Economy. Clinton won in 1992 because Perot was the spoiler so let’s not measure the White House Drapes just yet as there is REALLY, FUCKING HARD WORK TO DO to try to win.

EMB – Kerry-ized is more polite than the “Black John Kerry”. Without a Ron Paul third party ticket of impact, milquetoast Democrats will stay home and the Republicans will be back in power heading us toward that Iceberg.

In short, we must demand that our party campaign harder and dirtier, with fear-driven truth. Clinton had a War Room. It seems that Obama-Biden have a paperbag they are trying to get out of.

The conventions are over. Gloves Off!

I have to say, I am SO IMPRESSED with the Republican Party. The Grand Old Party that was created to be for the rich and the elite has been able to get the poor, ignorant, blue collar, redneck, less than 1 million per year earning saps to buy into their agenda. Remarkable!

When Cindy McCain got up and spoke, I threw up in my mouth a little. But McCain’s speech brought full-tilt-boogie projectile vomiting.

IMHO, the Obama campaign needs to spend as little time possible on the GOP VP nom. They need to set their sights on MacDaddy McCain. He has done almost a ’180′ in what he espouses to hold dear to his heart. Find the sound bytes, guys. And fast.

Seitan – Dear you obviously don’t work for the CIA but nice try. I live and vote on one of those battle ground states that have drones like you running to the bathroom. Imodium dear imodium!

Here that Obamatrons! Can you hear it!

That’s the sound of the Barackapolis on its way back to Mount Obamalympus in the South Side of Chicago. Expect its arrival in November.

Its a win win situation for all Americans, you cultists get a permanent location for your temple where you can worship freely your Messiah.
He’s bound to be more approachable to his loyal servants in his beloved neighborhood than he would’ve in the White House and the rest of
us will have an actual competent and experienced pro American President in John McCain and an overqualified Vice President in Sarah Palin.

McCain’s speech tonight was pathetic! He came across as if he could stand there and say “I’m a Kangaroo” and just because he said it, it was true and honorable. There so much spin and lies, that I actually felt sorry for him. He wants this sooo bad, that he was willing to choose a right-wing religious nut-job as his running mate.

All I can figure is that, despite being well beyond retirement age, he has a young wife (54) who wants to be first lady. And since she pays the bills, he has no other choice.

Count my pennies among the $8 million… As soon as Palin’s speech was over, I made my first donation to Obama since Super Tuesday… Energized or full of fear? I dunno. I just want to make sure Obama is president.

It’s gonna be interesting to see what happens. Hopefully Obama will not take up seitan’s suggestion to fight a harder, dirtier campaign. He managed to rise above it in the primaries, and it would be a pity to let a foaming-at-the-mouth, supremely unqualified Vice-Presidential candidate, who never received a single vote from anyone on a national anything, drag him down to her base level of communication.

So when the republican’s donate and stand behind their canidated they’re energized? When democrats donate and stand behind their candidate they’re scared? Intersting.

McCain is now constrained by the limits of public campaign financing. Obama has literally unlimited financial means of getting his message out. This election is over.
