BEING EARNEST

Rupert Everett Is Oscar Wilde, AKA The Gayest Story Ever Told

Rupert Everett, who has already starred in adaptations of The Importance of Being Earnest and An Ideal Husband, will play Oscar Wilde himself in the upcoming bio pic, The Happy Prince, reports Variety.

The out thespian will also direct the movie, set to start production in summer 2013.

Prince, which tells the story of Wilde’s tragic final days in exile, will also co-stars Colin Firth, Emily Watson, Tom Wilkinson and Edward Fox.

It’ll be an acting challenge for Everett, who we hear is nowhere near as charming and friendly as Wilde.

Also, who will play Lord Alfred “Bosie” Douglas? May we suggest Andrew Garfield?
