Rupert Everett Stands By Gay Parenting Comments

The good news on this is I’m not applying for any sort of public office. I don’t want to be a (Member of Parliament), I don’t want to be in a council, I don’t want to be the head of (actors’ union) Equity. I’m just an individual with my own life and the things I want to do myself.

“I’m not against anybody doing anything… I’m not one of those people who wants to say, ‘Oh no, you can’t do that, you have got to pull the clocks back.’ Just I, personally, feel like that… I have loads of friends, gay friends, with children… I am not big into marriage, straight or gay, to be honest. I am very out of kilter with the rest of the world, I realize.”

Acclaimed actress Rupert Everett defends her stance on same-sex parents amid a backlash from gay rights advocacy groups on Brit talk show, This Morning, via the San Francisco Gate blog.
