They purposefully killed him then stole his stuff. This is a new pattern with police departments and attackers labeling gay attacks as robberies. Before the alibi was "he looked at me funny" now it is "I was robbing him/her". It's all an attempt to lessen the crime and sentence for the attackers. It wasn’t a robbery.
