The problem is they have no idea that the rest of the world watches this and shakes its head in disbelief. One of the reasons it does this is that the rest of the world knows that if these people did understand what we thought, they wouldn't care, they'd be proud. When people wear their ignorance as a badge of pride you know you're in trouble.

It would help if some of them had left their state, let alone their country. It would help if US media outlets who claim to broadcast 'world news' actually showed something of the world during the broadcasts. The USA is a fantastic country, but sometimes you get the impression that many of its citizens believe that all you have to do is say that over and over and hear it being said to make it actually be true.

Hopefully Obama will bring a more enlightened guiding hand to the country to return it to its rightful place in the world community. The Bush years have been a disaster and McCain and his ignorant 'mad cow' running mate would only let that continue.
