Scary.

“Despite a stepped up global battle against AIDS, the numbers of people newly infected with HIV are far and away outpacing the numbers beginning antiretroviral drug treatments, U.N. officials said Monday.” [365 Gay]

Actually, not so scary when you consider that more and more research is suggesting that it might not be advantageous (and may even be counterproductive) to start therapy immediately.
Do a little more research, or at least consider your headlines a little longer.

I have been pos for 15 years and never taken any meds, and never been sick either. Most of my friends did not get sick and die till they started taking HIV meds. Then I have to wonder if they got sick and died from HIV or the meds. My money is on the latter.

Yeah, from what I’ve been hearing/reading, I’d suggest some serious thought before taking the meds.

I’d expect a little more knowledge used on a gay blog before a headline like that. Those who are newly diagnosed are not encouraged to begin medications until their levels reach a certain level – which can be years – so you’ve basically got a non-story here without further information.
