A decorator in Scotland has lost a defamation case against a former friend who was referring to him as a “gay painter.”
George Cowan had sued comedian Mark Bennett for more than $15,000 in damages, claiming Bennett had damaged his reputation with the description. A judge in Fife, however, said the epithet didn’t qualify as defamation because “no reasonable person” would take Bennett’s comment seriously.
Cowan also claimed some of his business cards had been defaced with sexual comments, but Bennett denied any involvement.
Am, c’mon guys—can’t you just kiss and make up?

If you’re gay and a painter, you’re a gay painter. You’re lots of other things too, but in that context, it works. And that photo is too close to my lesbian clown nightmares. yikes
