Sen. Bob Bennett’s Lame Stab at Killing D.C.’s Gay Marriage Law Fails

We sort of don’t believe senators are actually at work at 1 o’clock in the morning — maybe they really are too busy for The Gays — but there they were, in the wee hours of the night, shooting down Sen. Bob Bennett’s stupid health care amendment that would’ve halted D.C.’s gay marriage until voters had a chance to weigh in. Senators voted the bill down in a 36-59 vote; Sen. Olympia Snowe is said to be among the Republicans who quashed it. Yea bipartisanship?
