Former Saturday Night Live writer Seth Meyers apparently works out at a really gay gym, which explains why Anderson Cooper believed he was gay the first time they met.
Meyers also apparently has a late night talk show now (?), which is where this vital information came to light.
Last night, Cooper appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers to discuss his theories on where Malaysian Airlines flight 370 is, and made time to share an interesting story about that time they met at “the gayest gym on the planet.” Naturally, Cooper assumed Meyers was gay because “there weren’t a lot of other reasons to be there.”
For the record, Anderson Cooper works out at David Barton. Maybe Seth was there to get inspiration for Stefon?

I don’t really see the point of a “gay gym” if all you want is a place to work out. Now if you want a glorified bath house, thats another story.

A female friend of mine who lives in NY works out at David Barton specifically because its mostly gay guys. She loves it. I’ve worked out there with her a few times that I’ve visited and yeah its a bit cruisy, but when I go to the gym I am Mr Tunnel Vision. I have my ipod on and stay so much in my lane that there could be an orgy going on and I would be so into my thumpa thumpa music and working out that it wouldn’t bother me.

Matthew, I’m trying to throw as little shade as possible, but seriously? You didn’t know Seth Meyers has a late night show? You didn’t know he took over for Jimmy Fallon? Who took over for Jay Leno? Is that seriously a thing? You on your own with that one. Pretty sure anyone who’s had their TV on NBC in the last three months or visited a media website in the same time-period heard quite a bit about the launch. It wouldn’t even be a problem, but you write for a topical website. Scary.
Anyway, I very familiar with the David Barton Gyms, and they’re really beautiful, fancy, and super gay. They’re even selective with locations. They only put them in hyper-gay (but really expensive) parts of town. Not sure if there are orgies going on in the steam room. It seems like a normal, upscale, boutique gym, except almost anyone who exercises there is a really rich gay guy, which is a bit of a tip off. The more heterosexual-minded rich people here just go to Equinox. Normal people go (or have a membership to, anyway) New York Sports Club. And the dusty bitches like me slumming it at Planet Fitness. When I show up. Mess.
