If you’re a connoisseur of gay internet pornography (ie. a chronic masturbator), perhaps you’ve seen the high quality cinematic achievements of substitute math teacher Shawn Loftis (aka Collin O’Neal). The stud once owned Collin O’Neal’s World of Men and appeared in such award-winning films as Desperate Husbands and Mo’ Bubble Butt, but he had since gone on to teach math to K through 8th graders in Florida. That is, he did until the school district found out about his porny past.
Mr. Loftis taught at Nautilus Middle, Edison Middle, and Fienberg-Fisher K-8 schools until another employee told Nautilus principal Allyn Bernstein about his roles as a vers muscle stud in Humping Iron. That’s when the school district suspended him over a rule requiring school faculty to “conduct themselves, both in their employment and in the community, in a manner that will reflect credit upon themselves and the school system” and the Florida Department of Education revoked his teaching certification.
Mr. Loftis studied international relations with a Middle East focus at Florida International University and earned a master’s in public administration at the University of Miami. But even the American Civil Liberties Union refused to defend him saying, “Your case would be stronger if your job did not involve supervising children.”
So Mr. Loftis turned back into Collin O’Neal and flew off to Cuba where he recntly filmed a sex scene with twin brothers “that actually like touching and having sex with each other.” While students who would have hung on Mr. Loftis’ every. single. word. will miss out on his math instruction, we’ll happily watch as he continues to divide whole numbers with his prime factor.
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
Carry that one, stud.

The one weird thing about this to me is…
The ACLU seems to equate him doing porn with a danger to children. Unless it was some horrible illegal kiddie porn as far as I understand it, adult porn is completely illegal.
Perhaps a court needs to come up with a list of previous careers that restricts you from ever teaching kids math. Until that is done it seems arbitrary for somebody who did porn to be kicked out while somebody who is a member of a church that preaches bigotry and women’s servitude would be allowed to teach in spite of the dangers that THEY would present to children under their influence.
Cam
Sorry, up there I meant to write adult porn is completely LEGAL.
Tony
Nothing good comes from doing porn. I’m no prude and can enjoy a porn actors skills, but I honestly think there’s something off about someone who fucks on camera. I had an ex boyfriend who was best friends with a porn actor years ago. I got to meet several guys “in the business” and you talk about a group of fucked up individuals!!
delurker
Eh, I am pretty sure a gal who stripped who acted a gang bang porno would’ve been shit canned the same way. Hard to muster sympathy for him. And he went to film a porno in Cuba? Did Fidel know that?
Daez
I don’t see how his past has anything to do with his present. If he was doing porn in his free time while teaching that would be one thing, but this is something he did in the past so he should not be judged on it solely.
dk
Depends on the timeline. If he had not done porn since he was hired as a teacher, and he did not answer dishonestly if he was asked about it during the application process, then he’d have a case. If he did porn during his breaks while he was technically still a teacher, then he broke the clause in his contract and it was his own fault.
xander
Imagine the outrage if they discovered he’d done straight porn? Might not be such a class 4 hurricane.
Unless he was convicted for something illegal, I’d worry more about his ability to teach than his prior employment record. Plus, he’s no doubt able to explain ‘radius’ and ‘circumference’ better than teachers w/ less experience.
dvlaries
The eternal question we as a citizenry stubbornly duck or maybe genuinely cannot settle is: there either is something wrong this stuff or there isn’t.
Folks lap it up to the tune of billions of dollars a year, and woe to anyone who tries to restrict our access to it. But at the same time, we gasp and recoil at the thought of anyone we know and love doing it.
Nor has the industry yet produced a spokesperson so eloquent as to convince middle American this something perfectly okay for its children to grow up to do. Perhaps it never will, but until it does, it will never have the legitimacy it sometimes kids itself it does. For most people, having sex for money is recognized as prostitution, and while the presence of a camera and calling the prostitutes “models” prevents any criminal proceedings, it doesn’t change the definition for most people.
Cam
@dvlaries:
Exactly, there was a county in Utah that was trying to close down a book store that sold porn or a strip club or something, and they were using the excuse that this was a good god fearing community. Apparently the club got evidence to prove that the community as a whole consumed massive amounts of internet porn at the same time it was condemning the places that sold porn.
Brian
If he was my middle school teacher, damn I would have been better at math!
Tony
@Daez:
What planet do you live on where your past has no relevance on the present?

I’m no prude either and I’m familar with Mr. O’Neals work. I sure his past work in porn has no impact on his teaching skills and his private life is his own. Having said that kids and young adults are impressionable and look to teachers as role models and often develop crushes. If any of his films should be available to his students, he loses all credibility as a teacher. IMO
Florida is a state of transplants, a lot of those who are conservative people who love to run for office such as school boards. So to me it’s no shock that he was fired.
Anyway, I’m wondering how he was allowed to visit Cuba?
Katt
I watched the preview for Mo’ Bubble Butts. I think my penis wept from that gross behavior. Not judging people who are into it, but that was above and beyond freaky. I’m a liberal and I would still advocate him being fired immediately. You gotta have some kind of class about things. That was kinkyhotmess.com
the crustybastard
Sex for money in private = illegal criminal activity
Sex for money on film = constitutionally protected
That just can’t be squared, but it certainly seems more sensible to decriminalize prostitution than to criminalize pornography.
Regardless, the ACLU and district’s point is legitimate and sensible: Mr. Loftis has been recorded voluntarily having sex for money (which retains a fairly profound social stigma, and calls his good judgment into question), and the existence of those recordings have already, and will continue to interfere with his ability to perform his job effectively and not create unnecessary problems for his employer.
Just because something is legal doesn’t mean you can do it without consequences.
Daniel McEwen
Am I getting this right that the ACLU is pretty much equating homosexuality with pedophilia? Otherwise, how does supervision of children play into it all?
milhouse
If I’m not mistaken, he was already doing porn again when he was fired as a substitute teacher. I would take a lot of his statements with a large grain of salt, as Mr. O’Neill seems to relish publicity including appearing on his own news broadcasts. I also wonder how he was able to travel to Cuba and where he gets the funds to travel all over the world constantly. I do know that people on Twitter were complaining that he never paid them for their porn shoots.
wtf
well thank goodness he was fired! Because we all know that the parents of children never fuck! and they certainly never fuck and upload it ONLINE!
get real. this is just hypocrisy. everyone fucks. and everyone wants to watch other people fucking.
if we weren’t so hung up about sex we wouldn’t have half the problems we have in this world.
robert in nyc
So by the same token, would the school district ban adulterers, or single people living with their significant other, or those heteros on their second or third marriages teaching children?
xander
Getting to Cuba these days is possible; I’ve friends/colleagues who’ve gone for NGOs (med/aid) in the past 2 years and others for tourism. The latter, I believe was done via a flight departing outside of the US; the former was done via Miami.
/\
The ACLU picks and chooses cases carefully. Their unwillingness to take one may not reflect anything other than their own priorities for key civil rights, of which porn may not be on top of their list.
phallus
No 18. I don’t think the school board was banning anyone. They were doing their jobs by following the district teaching rules which were probably in place well before these SB members were voted in. Yes, in Florida, school board members are elected. You can bet if Mr O’Neill wasn’t fired and a parent(s) found out about his porn career, the school district and the school board would be sued and the taxpayer (me included)would have to pay for the defense.
No 17: No not everyone fucks and I bet there are an even greater number of people don’t want to watch others fuck!
Antonio
Where did the line that demarcated what is socially acceptable disappear! In this day and age, children (especially teenagers) can get ahold of just about anything with the help of the Internet and now FaceBook. Therefore, the last thing I would want is to suddenly find my kid masturbating to a porn flick that depicts his math teacher in it. Yet somehow being “accepting” of a school teacher who does porn is a reflection of man’s having evolved? At one time owning another human being was totally acceptable. Actually, the more slaves you owned the more your status in the community was bolstered. However, where we made our gravest mistake was not in freeing the slaves, but by not returning them to the country of their origin. If being African-American is so incredible, and wonderful, then why do African-Americans bitch and moan about how horrible the United States of America is? Go home! My belief remains: the only way to put something aright it to put it back the way it was. If everyone returned to the place of their origin, and rather than abandoning that place, chose to change it like the people of Libya, maybe we wouldn’t have so many problems, and each culture could live its life in peace. To mix cultures into one “melting pot” just spells trouble because the majority is always, always going to be discontent over something to do with the “other” culture’s ideals, faiths and beliefs. Basically, we are not a tolerant people. We never will be. So everyone go home! Then you can practice your faith, your ideals and live your life anyway you want to without interference! Woops, my mistake! So long as the United States exists, no Country can live without the threat of interference. That is all the United States is famous for: interfering in everyone else’s business rather than dealing with its own problems. The elderly are thrown into nursing homes and receive substandard care, but the United States doesn’t have the manpower or the money to deal with the problem because it is too busy telling countries like Libya how it should act. Okay, so now its back to the drawing board.
Dan
Maybe he should have just gone on and gotten a TV show on the E! Network and then it wouldn’t have mattered – seemed to work for Kim Kardashian. I mean she just cleaned up with a big paycheck by getting married.
Tony
@wtf:
I think some of you are getting confused. The issue isn’t whether or who he fucks, the issues wasn’t the kids parents fucking, the issue wasn’t who watches porn. The issue was he fucked on camera and purposely distributed it for the world to see. Yes, everyone watches and enjoys porn…but not everyone makes porn. And once you make that decision to to do porn, be ready for the consequences. The main one being that there is a negative stigma to being a porn performer, and depending on your choice of career, partners, friends, etc it could be detrimental. Sure it worked for Kim K., but she wasn’t teaching children or running for political office.
Hyhybt
@Daniel McEwen: I don’t know… but it might have something to do with likely distractions at school when the kids find out… followed, inevitably, by their at least trying to find the videos. So it could be argued (and I’m NOT going further than saying it could be argued) that his being known to have made porn is, in and of itself, encouragement for the students to watch porn. An idea that wouldn’t go over well with any school board, or with most parents or courts.
Matthew Rettenmund
No, the issue isn’t OMG what about the kids??? The issue is that a highly qualified teacher who in the past had been a sex worker is being told that once you do that, you can never change your mind and do the thing you were trained to do, even if you’re great at it, and that you might as well go help some guys have incest in Cuba because you’re now a social outcast.
When did gay men get so fucking uptight and status quo and fussy about, “Oh, dear, he made porn, I can see they had a point…”? Sure, he can’t feign surprise that this did not go over well in a state where adopting was illegal for gay couples, but can’t we still find it hopelessly square and unfair!?
Brian
There is little difference between arguing that a guy who has sex with men on camera is “harmful to children” and that a guy who has sex with men off camera is “harmful to children.” Americans need to get over their hypocritical faux morality fetish.
Tim
God he is hott looking.
Forrest
The guy was an active porn star, had never sold his porn company, and blatantly lied both to the school district and the Miami New Times. Does anyone fact check? http://thesword.com/collin-oneal-loses-substitute-teacher-job-due-to-porn-present-not-porn-past.html
jj
The only shock in this for me is that he doesn’t make enough money from his porn career to not have to teach in public school. How is that possible?
Thomas
@Tony: “Nothing good comes from doing porn. I’m no prude and can enjoy a porn actors skills…”
Probably a GOProud supporter.
Dustin
@Cam: That is an EXTREMELY good point!
delurker
@Forrest: thanks for that.

No. 1 · Cam wrote, “The one weird thing about this to me is… The ACLU seems to equate him doing porn with a danger to children.”
More likely, the ACLU is equating doing porn with the probability of losing the case due to the attitudes of likely jurors.
The ACLU has a limited budget and can do more good by taking the cases it can win, some of which could even set precedents that might help this guy.
Steve
There used to be an unwritten rule that teachers and parents should set a good example for the kids. Shortly after they invented school boards and started hiring teachers on contract, school boards started putting those rules in writing as school board policy. The usual notion of a ‘good example’ has changed over the years, of course. Women no longer have to wear ankle-length skirts, for example.
Now, almost every school board has a written policy about what teachers may do in public, or in media, where it might be observed by the kids. Most of those policies include that teachers should not appear in pornography. It isn’t about freedom of anything under the first amendment. The policy about setting a good example for the kids, is just part of the terms of an employment contract. Teachers agree to abide by those policies when they sign contracts to be teachers. If you don’t want to abide by the contract, don’t sign it, and don’t be a K-12 teacher in a public school.
I expect that those policies will continue to change over time. Styles change, and expectations of public behavior change. Even so, I would be very surprised if they allow K-12 teachers to appear in porn videos, where the students might see their teacher having kinky sex, any time soon.

I love to see more photos body man

He may have “professionally” retired from porn, but Collin O’Neal and his BF still perform pornographic sex shows on Cam4 on a regular basis. I checked, and his most recent “show” was just 2 months ago.
Seriously, I wouldn’t want a gay porn star (or sex worker) as my child’s teacher either. If you’re going to work with children, there had better not be porn on your resume.
Gigi
@Tony: @No. 3 Tony – You’ve met 3 or 4 guys who’ve performed in porn films who were a bit of a mess, thus they’re ALL FUCKED UP? Come on! That’s a sweeping generalization if I ever heard one. That’s like saying, after watching the film The Birdcage, that all gay men are swishy queens. Personally I’ve met two guys who did porn and, in my experience, they weren’t any more or less messed up than most of the doctors or lawyers or teachers that I know. So there!
velocifero
We are all porn stars in our own way.
Pete n SFO
So the guy was a porn star under an alias… And, (at least according to the article was not active in the biz) So, how exactly did these teachers, employees, & potential students manage to find his film???
I’m sure lots of teachers have private lives that they don’t discuss w/ students. Remove people’s craziness around sex, orientation, the ASS lol, and what’s really the issue?
Does anyone really believe his absence keeps children safer or the community more wholesome? It’s all a smokescreen for the same prejudices we’re always dealing with. People have sex, some people have gay sex, some people are lucky enough to have nasty gay sex… if making porn isn’t illegal & his criminal record checks out, what are you left with? Same shit, different day… in Florida! Shocking!!!
Jack
Wonder how he got reported? Someone had to see the movie to recognize the resemblance
Michael Lucas
Shawn Loftis a.k.a Collin O’Neal neglects to mention his failed stint as a Miami Beach waiter were he was fired and arrested for theft and possession of stolen credit cards. Shawn also forgot to mention his find Dror Barak a.k.a. Roman Ragazzi and his subsequent ‘outing’ of poor Dror (because Dror was about to walk out on him) to the press by leaking a fictitious story to Page Six, a story that was covered in depth by Queerty a while ago and a story that led to Dror being fired from his job at the UN.
Lastly, Shawn neglected to mention that he makes quite a good amount of money dealing Crystal Meth to gay men up and down the East Coast – specifically transporting Meth from coast to coast.
Shawn Loftin, teacher, waiter, crook, meth dealer – man with no morals.
iDavid
Porn star = school teacher teaching kids? No way.
He should never have applied and he surely should have divulged his past upon interview instead of drama queening the school. What an energy draining parasite. I think he’s a sneaky dishonest schmuck and fully knew his odds of getting busted. He rolled the deception dice and lost.
He’s a walking talking bad example from the get go.
Luke
@Michael Lucas: Before accusing anyone of thievery, perhaps Michael Lucas should pay back people who scouted for him.
Michael Lucas
@luke: don’t get confused with ‘not paying you’ and ‘not doing the job that you were originally hired for’ I don’t pay people who over-bill, submit fake invoices, and are too drunk to show up on time to work. You did a piss poor job with no results and failed to provide any concrete evidence you actually worked and for that, I didn’t pay you. Take it up with the Labor Board if you have any issues!!!
Collin
@Michael Lucas: you just proved that you are Sean Michael Kirkham! You detailed too many facts of that “alias” of yours. Thus, you leaked the story to Page Six and Dror’s employer due to jealousy. Your own demented punishment for him being a New Yorker and Jew, thinking you should own him, but never grabbed him. I hope ICE agents don’t rush your office Miss Honey 😉
As for Roman, I wish him the best and treated him very well. I like him very much.
caspar mctaggart
@Daniel McEwen: EXACTLY! he teaches MINORS, which means they are not legally permitted to see his body of work in adult film until they are 18. if florida doesn’t want its teachers to work outside the classroom, then maybe the legislature should think about paying them better. as for all of you self-righteous judge judys, you’ve all got the gavel in one hand and the remote in the other. either shut your eyes or shut your mouths.
David
It amazes me that in our quest to be open and accepting to all, we somehow leave common sense at the door. This idea that ones past does not or should not follow one into the future is simply not realistic. If I made anti-semitic comments in the past (perfectly legal) and published those thoughts in a public forum, even if I had changed my mind, do you not think that those comments would follow me throughout my life? It’s almost like the idea people have with regards to free speech. People think that they can say whatever they want, and that is true. But there is no constitutional protection from consequences of what you say.
I have no problem with porn nor the people who choose to do it, but realize that when you make that choice you are closing off future avenues as far as careers. Fair or unfair, it’s reality. Mr. O’Neal wasn’t one of these young guys who did one scene at 18 or 19, regretted it, and never did porn again. I would have a little more sympathy for someone like that. This was a man who was in porn for years and owned his owned his own company and he expects parents and principals to just shrug off that fact? Not realistic. And to equate doing porn to being divorced or cheating on ones spouse is just silly. I cannot look at videos on the internet of someone cheating on their spouse, but I can find plenty with Mr. O’Neal. He chose to get into an industry where he is publicly engaging in a behavior that most people consider very intimate and private. Good for him. I’m sure he made a good amount of money and I wish him much success in the future, and if he were fired from working at a bank or a hospital I might be on his side, but being a teacher is different. These are the people we intrust with basically helping us raise our children and we should hold them to a higher standard. If Mr. O’Neal really wanted to be a teacher he should have never gotten into porn. Just because he is gay doesn’t mean that one has to automatically defend the actions of all gay people.
Henry
@David: Perfectly right, a person who posts anti-Semitic comments on a video game message board under the name Jason Rothman might just get a bullet through his head.
o
@Henry: If he gets a bullet through his head, his anti-Semitic past (and present, since he still posts tons of anti-Semitic shit all over the internet) won’t be able to follow him. I get your point, though. There are consequences for being an anti-Semite, and he needs to accept them. Freedom of speech, as my lawyer friend says, isn’t freedom from consequences.
marcus
What is it with people who think they should be able to have everything they want in life no matter what. If I spent ten years as a thief and then saw the error of my ways should I now expect to be able to have a career in law enforcement? No! I burned that bridge.
Being a porn star, gay or straight, is immoral to a lot of people. That may be small minded of them but it doesn’t change the fact. So go ahead and be a porn star, it’s not illegal, but to then turn around and want, no, demand, a career teaching kids demonstrates a clear misunderstanding of how our actions have LIFETIME consequences.
