SF's Gays Want More

One wouldn't think San Francisco needs any more gay attention, but The Golden Gate Business Association says otherwise. The so-called "first LGBT chamber of commerce" recently launched an ad campaign enticing homos to visit their fair city. [The Age]

I suspect that in the time period since the overt onset of aids, the gay population of San Francisco has decreased. During the years in which I lived there, while, if I had forsight, I would have loved the city in and of itself, it came to be the case that I gave a lot of attention to the huge number of incredibly good looking and available sex mates, so that aspect too priority. The fact is that the city is one of the most beautiful in the city and after the period when gay people could attend primarily to sex, they died or moved out and Straight people with money moved in. This is surmise, but I would guess that the gay people remaining there would like to redevelope a stronger gay community based on familiarity othert han sex, something which
we are marture enough to do.

Indeed the only mature direction that gay people can go, is to develope communities based on our emotional commonalities. which separate us authentically from straight people. Why not get a wonderful site like San Francisco.

It's not the cirty of bathhouses and free sex that it was by any means, but we have other emothional needs and Queers need to experiment in having our own communities,
